Worth the cost.

I installed this motor in a 35 year old Sears tablesaw to replace a burned out motor. It matched well and runs smoothly. I only needed to devise a means of attaching the belt guard and did so via 2 strips of aluminum stock mounted via the motor base bolts which only took about 15 minutes time. Although the cost was high I judged the saving of the saw was worth the cost rather than scrap it for a new replacement.
Grizzly is Great

When the motor on my thirty-year old Craftsman table saw failed, I searched for a replacement. Sears could not provide me with a replacement and the local industrial suppliers could not find a motor under $400. I searched Amazon and found the Grizzly for about on third the price. Not only was the Grizzly cheaper, it was a better motor too. The grizzly motor had the same frame size as the old motor so it bolted right in place. I had to fabricate a belt guard mount for the new motor but that is to be expected with such an old saw. The Grizzly runs great, the price was very reasonable, and shipping was quick.
Good Replacement For Old Sears Craftsman Saw

I bought this for a replacement motor on my forty year old Craftsman saw. It easily bolted in place and lined up with the saw arbor pulley. This motor is much heavier and larger than the original motor, which was a multipurpose design that fit other types of saws as well. Because the motor housing is a larger diameter than the original Craftsman motor I had to slightly modify the belt guard to make it fit. I just hacksawed a 1 1/2" kerf in the top and bottom of the belt guard flange so it would spread open wider to fit around the motor, then replaced the band clamp with a larger 7" diameter one I found at a well known auction website.

The motor starts up quickly and runs smoothly. I replaced the forty year old drive belt with a Grizzly H9815 Power Twist V Belt Grizzly H9815 Power Twist® V-Belt, 1/2" x 4' (T21992) This belt has eliminated much of the vibration from the saw and made it much smoother operating.

A manual is now available at their website which shows the wiring, although there wasn't one available when I bought my motor. The electrical box is on the bottom of the motor, so it's a good idea to connect the wires before bolting the motor to the saw. The plastic threaded conduit fitting that brings the wires into the box extends inside the box a little too far, bringing it too close to the electrical connections. I had to trim the excess threads off with a hack saw to avoid kinking the wires. I used o-ring connectors instead of the spade type which are more secure.

Grizzly seems to have good customer service. When the first motor arrived with a bent motor mount flange (dropped by UPS?) I filled out a return form with Amazon. The next morning someone from Grizzly called. By that afternoon they shipped out a new one.
Replacement for Old Craftsman Table Saw Motor

The Grizzly G2533 1hp motor is a direct bolt-on replacement for the bushing, not bearing, based 62618 motor on my old 113.298750 Sears Craftsman table saw. The saw appears to cut at least as well as before the old motor quit. The saw was missing the original manual and a few belt guard parts when I bought it used a dozen years ago. As other reviewers have suggested, I'll have to improvise a belt guard, but it shouldn't be too difficult. The saw manual with motor mounting instructions can be downloaded from the Sears manageMyLife.com website. Enter the product model number in the page search box. (The .750 manual wasn't listed, but the 113.298720 appears to be the same.) The Grizzly, as opposed to the Craftsman motor, includes a welded-on mounting flange, an enclosed motor, and bearings, and it is heavier and draws fewer amps. Grizzly includes a one sheet easy to understand wiring diagram with the motor in case the rotation needs to be reversed. The motor was shipped wired with the correct rotation for the saw and the electrical hookup was quite simple. The original motor I received from Grizzly had a bent mounting flange, apparently from damage that occurred before shipping. Grizzly service personnel were pleasant and helpful; they immediately shipped a new motor and arranged to pick up the damaged motor at delivery. (3/3/2016 Still very pleased with the motor and saw performance. It has cut through hard, thick oak and maple without bogging down, of course with a sharp blade and reasonable feed speed. Several years ago I replaced the old worn belt with a HF Accu-Link belt for about twenty bucks with coupon. It resulted in an even more smooth-running saw.)
Great Motor

I'm extremely pleased with this motor. I purchased to replace the motor on my 35 yr old Craftsman Table Saw. I shopped around quite a bit and everything I was finding was $300 & up. This is a great value purchase and would advise anyone with an old saw like mine to purchase this motor without hesitation. I did have to adjust the pulleys a bit but other than that it was a quick install that took a total of 10 minutes.
