Effective anti-sleep but may loosen over time

Without fail, every single pair of plastic-framed glasses I own ends up slipping off of my face after a few weeks. Couple that with active sweat glands and you have the makings of a frustrating glasses-wearing life! I've tried a few things to remedy the problem. I used to get regular resizings until I just got frustrated. I also purchased a wax that you put on the bridge of the glasses to help it stick. None of that worked until this silicone holder. "‹"‹
Application couldn't be simpler: you put the stems of your glasses through the holes. Even at my sweatiest, these things did not fall off! I also barely feel them. However, over the course of a few weeks, these things became a little loose, and I had lost one during a trip to a museum. They don't exactly blend in, either. The utility of "‹these anti-slip holders trumps any negative effect, though. And they're so cheap!

Great alternative to a strap

The "slippage" I've been dealing with is more related to a defect in my glasses rather than just sweat. My previous (and first) pair were damaged to uselessness after I fell off a horse. The pair I have now were meant to replace them. For a couple weeks they were perfect. But then I noticed a small flaw: 1 of the screws that allows the folding of the side pieces was sitting crooked in the hole. How it was holding them together all this time I have no idea, but I figured it was an easy fix so I tried to straighten it. It was then that I found the 2 holes here were not lined up properly. So I couldn't fit the screw back in.
I took it back to the doctor's office and they simply put a thinner screw in to avoid the hassle of waiting for a replacement. I didn't have a problem with that, but after that quick fix these glasses refused to stay on my face. All I had to do was face directly downwards and gravity would take them right over the end of my nose. Several times I almost lost them in the washing machine when doing laundry or when doing any kind of cleaning. So one day I went to Wal-Mart and bought a kid's strap from the Vision Center. That worked just fine for the past couple years, but I was getting tired of having to slip my glasses over my head all the time, and beginning to hate being seen with something so tacky.
Up until now, I thought straps were the only form of preventing slippage with glasses. Needless to say I did quite the happy dance when I saw these. Subtle, doesn't take up much space, and you can slip the glasses on more normally. The only thing I'm dealing with now is slipping them up above my ears when I have headphones on. But compared to the past 3 years, that's not even worth taking 1 star from my rating of these.
I highly recommend these to people who need some security to their wire frames. There was a bit of resistance when putting mine over the temples of my glasses because they have those thick lips at the bottom of the arches, but once I got them on and adjusted to comfort I was pretty confident they weren't gonna slip off with just trying to put my glasses on.
Overall, terrific alternative to a strap. I don't think I'll ever go back to that.

Does the job

These will work perfectly if you have glasses with small arms. My daughters chunky plastic flames are not small. You can force them on with alot of work but they will only last a week or 2 maybe before they split open from the pressure. Not a knock on the product I was just using them for something they aren't intended for. My only other issue is if you have long hair they will get stuck in your hair making your glasses off sometimes. All that said they definitely keep your glasses where they belong!
Works but a little uncomfortable

I have wire frame glasses with nose pads and after having failed all sorts of different remedies, (including Nerd Wax) I was about to give up and wear my contacts every day instead of having to deal with my glasses falling down every 5 seconds. However these worked surprisingly well. They aren't the most comfortable, I do find myself adjusting them throughout the day but they keep my glasses up. I do have to push up the glasses every now and then, but overall I'm pleased with how they work. I see that some people have had issues with the hole that you stick the ends of your glasses into being too small, this wasn't an issue for me, but I could see them being too tight for plastic frames. They also extend quite far down the back of your ears, so if you have small ears like me, you may find the tips push out your earlobes a bit. This isn't super noticeable, but I do tend to wear these with my hair down so people can't see I have them on. If this would be an issue for you, you may want to consider getting the shorter ones, as the extra length of these honestly don't do much in terms of keeping the glasses on. All the action is performed by the top half of the legs.
Great product!!! Works very well!

These silicone temple hooks are decent. I've had a few pairs of them and they work very well. When I was in the Army, I was able to get both plastic frames and metal frames that had cable tipped temples. They're so hard to find now, and REC SPECS are more suitable for sports and maybe for some lab work in lieu of safety glasses or goggles. They don't look right for office jobs. My RX isn't very strong. I also have Progressive lenses, but when I add a sunclip, my glasses are constantly slipping down my nose. I work in technology and cannot keep pushing my eyeglasses up 100s of times per day. It's so annoying! These silicone hooks are a good alternative for cable temple glasses or conversion kits. Be careful though...if you slip the hooks over plastic temple covers, they will probably stretch out and won't shrink back and be too loose for your frame without the covers. Heat and a drop of water helps to stretch them out and make them easier to put on your frames. These hooks aren't super cheap (too expensive to be disposable IMHOp), but you can get 2 pairs in one order. They work for eye and sunglasses, metal or plastic frames. They do stretch out so once you put them on and like where you put them, leave them on there. Also, when you get adjustments or get new lenses, make sure you keep track of them or remove them. I've lost a few pairs because I got my lenses changed or frames repaired. The labs or techs didn't give them back to me. Great product!!! They're hypoallergenic for me and my family too!
