I bought this for my 7.5 yr old grandson who had never put a model together before and this quickly became a grandpa/grandson project. Great for me, but know that it's a little complicated for a kid this age. The directions are okay but it takes some attention to make sure the orientation of the pieces is correct. Most pieces snapped together quite well, though there were a couple of wheels that were way too loose and we had to deploy the Gorilla Glue. All directions had to be reviewed and ordered through me, even though he reads a couple years above his grade. About a third of it really needed my help, but there were lots of things for him to do, so he never got bored or felt like it was my project instead of his.

I personally wanted to paint it and it could have been done, but the first model needed to be something that we could accomplish in less than an hour. And it's fine without any paint.

In the end, this was not going to be a project that the child will do anything more than just put on a shelf and point to it. Moving it to show others tends to make a few things fall off.

Very cool tank kit. I bought it as the first model kit for me and my son to assemble. Not too high of difficulty but you did have to pay a little attention. Good starter kit.

I received the abrams model on time, and the packaging was in good shape. All the pieces in the box are attached to a plastic tie sheet (to remove each part you have to twist the part off of the grid), and none were broken.

The instructions were fairly simple. I was able to finish making it in an hour. I went to the local hardware store and bought a rough gray and a dessert camouflage paint and mixed them together. The final tank ended up looking pretty cool, in my opinion.

My only concern with this tank is that the barrel seems to fall off easily, but it shouldn't be a problem if you are not going to mess around with it often. If it does, it is really easy to push it back in. Overall, I am satisfied with this Revell model, especially for this price.

Revell Abrams M1A1 Plastic Model Kit My 13 yr. old son had no problem putting this together. No glue needed at all. He was able to start rolling it around within 20 minutes (would've been less if not for his little sis interrupting). An unexpected bonus, according to him, is that the sound it makes when rolling is similar to the sound a real tank makes. He thought that was pretty cool. Not too delicate to play with. He definitely plays with it, including positioning and re-positioning all movable parts. We are very pleased with this purchase.
