I have never owned a Melodica, so wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as I received it, I opened the package and gave it a try! I was pleasantly surprised at the size and by the volume that can be obtained simply by blowing into the instrument. Having the extension hose attachment really makes the Melodica easier to use. I direct a group of Christmas Carolers and will use the Melodica to give them their pitches for our A Capella Carols.

This is a good beginner melodica. Due to some manufacture defects and slightly off tuning, I can not recommend this product for professional use. Recreationally though? It's a fine solid instrument with a decent if not great tone.
While not perfectly in tune, it's not whole notes off or anything, and unless you have a very well trained ear, you probably won't notice. Even if you do, as a friend told me "That's part of the charm of the instrument". If it really bugs you and you aren't interested in paying for a more professional grade instrument, you can tune the melodica, but it's a challenging task and it's PERMENANT so if you mess it up, you're SOL.
It's a nice beginner instrument, and comes complete with a hose, a solid attachment, and a nice case. I'm sure I'll enjoy many years of fun with this instrument.
