I bought a size 6 (46", 50 pounds). Positives: arm length, chest, and shoulders. Negative: shirt length did not provide enough to tuck the shirt in. When we tried it on my son, it could be tucked in, but as soon as he moved his arms, the shirt was untucked. The shirt was thin, but I believe this is true of most dress shirts. Excluding the issue with shirt length, it looked great with the khaki vest. Unfortunately, had to return and get a longer shirt.

Fabric is thin. If it is cold out you would definitely need an under shirt. Runs small. My son wears a 2t and I sized up to a 3t for this shirt and it fit him perfectly. This shirt worked fine for him for the short period of time he wore it in a fall wedding.
