Smell is not as fruity as it should be.

My canary loves these pellets. She eats the green first, then the yellow, followed by the orange and red. I do not know the calcium content, but my bird was deficient at egg laying time. I also mix in a small amount of seeds and millet so this is not her only food source, but it is a big part of it. I supplement her diet with liquid Calciboost on these pellets and she has no more problems.

This food has been a wonderful "main diet" for our canaries. I do want to emphasize that it is not the only food we give them, but it makes up the majority of their diet. The thing that I want to comment on is the size of the bag of food we chose. My wife likes the smaller bags so that we can use up the food quicker and so it has the potential to stay fresher than getting the larger bags and having to worry about storing them in the freezer for extended periods of time. We only have two canaries, so that's why we get the smaller bags as well. If you have more than two birds, get the bigger bags and save yourself the money. I think that freshness trumps price in this situation, so buy accordingly.

I like to give my finches a fruitblend mixed in with their other feed to give them a well rounded diet. They also get egg and some veggies. They keep their beautiful coloring and are quite lively, so I am pretty sure it is worthwhile for me to give them more of a blend than what is currently available.

My finches love it. It is the first thing gone every morning.
