This is the best product ever! I have strawberry blond hair and this is a perfect match. It lasts until you wash your hair and is really almost exactly right. I love it because this allows me to postpone coloring my roots since I have about 50% silver hair. I'm a natural redhead with fine hair, so I try to extend the time between coloring my hair so that it doesn't break. This is the best out there for root touch up

I have a very certain type of red that is very hard to match and I had been using Batiste Vibrant Red Dry Shampoo for years only to find that they discontinued it with no notice. I tried so many different dry shampoos and different root covers and I could find nothing that worked until this! I also have a problem with thinning hair from time to time because of my meds and this works great to cover any thinning. I am so very happy with this product.
I know people are complaining about it being messy but I have not found that to be an issue at all. If you are careful it's not really messy at all. I did get a tiny bit on my forehead but it was easy to remove with a make up remover wipe.That was it! If you are looking for a cover up, something to boost your thinning hair or just a replacement for red dry shampoo at a reasonable price I suggest this!

I wanted this to be the perfect root touch up that I've been searching for. I found one, but it doesn't come in auburn, so I settled for a medium brown in that brand (StyleEdit powder not the spray the spray auburn like so many others, isn't really auburn) because I'd rather have brown roots over white lol, while still searching for a real auburn. This one had so much potential based on other reviews, but I still find it lacking.

I've found a real auburn color with this (not Ronald McDonald red or worse, pink that so many of the other brands so called auburns are). My natural color is a light to medium auburn, now that I'm getting some white hair (more than I'm comfortable with), I dye my hair the same as my natural color. But I hate dying my hair because of all the chemicals and I can't find an organic or natural dye that can achieve a natural auburn color (I refuse to have hair that screams I've dyed my hair). So I will only dye my hair 3 times a year max, not every other month as required. So having a perfect root touch up is a must.

What I like - it's actually auburn as already mentioned. I'd give the color a million stars if I could.

What I dislike - 1) Glitter in the color (most people dying their hair are probably too old to want glitter in their hair). 2) Application of this product is horrible. I've tried the brush fully extended and partially extend, both ways make a huge mess and waste product (and a pita to clean up the mess). I've also tried the little brush that comes with it. That way the mess factor is avoided, but doesn't go on as well and takes a lot more time (at least for me, my white hair isn't just root growth, I get full strands back after a month). 3) Having to set the color with hair spray, the other brand I like that doesn't have an auburn color does not require this and it stays in place without it.

Suggestions - What about making this a thicker powder, similar to an eye shadow and having a sponge like applicator? That would avoid the mess and waste and probably the hairspray setting requirement too. And please, please, please remove the glitter.

This is a very nice product! I am very happy with the results I've gotten. I was a natural redhead and over the years my hair has gotten very dark and brown so I color it red every 8 weeks or so. I stay in the copper family as that's close to my natural hair color. It's been very difficult for me to find a touch up product that matches the copper reds that I get done. I ended up doing a search for products online that specialized in reds and coppers and I found Rootflage's website. Anyway, I just looked at the colors online and crossed my fingers the one I chose was accurate and it was. I have had friends look at the touch ups I've done in the sunlight to make sure it's a great match and it is. The product lasts for a very long time, 24 hours later it's still covering my roots if I don't wash it. I spray hairspray on it to keep it intact, it doesn't itch or anything which I've read can happen with other products. Anyway, I am a fan of this product and will be buying more when I run out! I purchased this after looking for another product I had seen on the morning talk shows. This had higher ratings and better reviews. The other ones had a thinner brush and you sort of painted it on the area needing covering. This is a wider circular brush about an inch or so in diameter. It does a really good job in covering your roots. I didn't get it wet so I can't say anything about the water resistance claim.

I bought the cool blonde, which I thought might be too light based on my highlighted hair, but it actually blends nicely and looks warmer than I thought.

I think the only thing that would make it better would be to be to have a smaller brush. It would make the product last longer for the value. I think the other is probably cheaper per use but this is really easy and looks great.
