Happy 1 year anniversary.....not

At just over 1 year old the back solid mounted portion of the jaws broke off. I have not yet figured out how to contact the manufacturer to find out if they will replace it and stand by the product they make. I myself work in manufacturing so I understand that things go wrong sometimes, and I also understand that even if a product is out of our written warranty, if it's a blatant flaw in manufacturing we still replace the damaged goods If for no other reason but to get back the broken parts for inspection.
The quaility is no longer there. Don't bother if you need a good vise.

There are the worst vises I have ever used. I bought two with the intention of mounting them side by side. First problem is if you cannot use them without the swivel base. If you try to bolt them down without the base they will warm and will no longer clamp. My older 6" vise by the same company(HHIP) works great without the swivel base. It has more meat in it and much better built. These are cheap junk.
Second problem is when mounting them side by side they are 0.0115" difference in height. This makes them unusable without shimming.
The workmanship and general quality has gone away with these vises. The old ones I have use 10+ years old. Work great to this day. These were junk out of the gate. They made them with so much less material it compromised the usability.
Don't waist your money.

Solid compliment to a mini mill.

The 3" version of this vice is a solid compliment to a mini mill....It looks appropriately scaled and fits nicely, yet sacrifices zero in the work-holding realm...Other pieces can be shaking off the table, the bench rumbling in anger, and this vise stays put and in control.
I personally have not used the swivel base yet, and only purchased a vise with it "just incase". but the vise is precision made, and the jaws are changable, and reversible. A very solid tool.

Perfect size. Good price

No complaints with this vice. Using it on a Sieg X2. Can't imagine a bigger vice fitting on the table. Perfect size. Good price.
Where's the beef? Not in the vise!

Not so fast with the five star ratings! I'm not sure any of the previous reviewers have ever worked with a good heavy vise. I purchased this one because I needed an angular adjustable smaller vise with high ratings. I give it it a three star because it is simply a low end fair quality vise. If you ever used one of the original Bridgeport units, just getting it up on the mill will tell more than anything! Luckily I will be machining small aluminum pieces that will not require heavy cuts. It won't put up with heavy cuts out of mild steel, just not enough meat there to tolerate high forces. So don't purchase this unit if you expect high quality performance. For a hobbyist this will work, for a machine shop not!
