I bought these pedals thinking that they would be more durable than straps for my fixie. The look good but feel terrible. I usually ride with my straps some what loose so that my foot can come out when I want it to so I did the same for these. I soon came to realize that my foot would go through the side of the front part and would not provide the nessesary foot retention. I then tightened them so that I had the right retention but found out that I couldn't get my feet out and I would rip over. Another thing that was terrible about these pedals is that when you're riding with out your feet in them the cage scrapes the ground and will bend. After about a week and a half of use, the strap broke. I threw out the pedals and went back to my straps. Don't but these toe clip pedals, they suck.

I don't understand people knocking these pedals for stiff bearings..... They are easily adjustable.... the bearings were stiff on the set I purchased and I had them adjusted in no time. Same principle as a hub adjustment.. pop the dust cap and have at it!

I am a daily commuter. I ride 30 miles a day, at least 4 days a week. On some of my recreational rides, i was getting laughed at by other riders because I constantly had to shift my feet on my pedals. So... I thought, I'll get some toe clips. I know I only ride a single speed track bike, but I'd love to keep my feet in the optimal position while on long rides. So I do some research online... I think to myself "I definitely want metal clips cause I can shape them and they'll last longer than plastic". I see all kinds of positive reviews for the Wellgo pedals... and they look cool.
So I buy them...

These pedals are constructed well, but the same can not be said for the clips. The bearings on the pedals are a little stiff out of the box, but they loosen up nicely after the first 5 miles. The first problem I noticed is the raised ridge on the front and back side of the pedals. That ridge digs into your feet, especially if you're wearing foam soled shoes (like light weight running shoes). The toe clips are very thin. In fact, the right foot toe clip broke after 3 days. The loop that holds the leather strap broke off the right pedal. That loop got flipped up on the left pedal, but did not break off.On top of the discomfort from the pedals on my feet, the toe clips were also uncomfortable against my toes. I realize with certain types of shoes this may not be a problem, but with my running shoes and my vans, it was a problem.

I continued to use these pedals, despite the broken clip, for another month before purchasing the Avenir Resin/Alloy Pedals witha plastic clip. THEY ARE CHEAPER, MORE COMFORTABLE AND BETTER CONSTRUCTED.

I would NOT recommend the Wellgo Fixie Bike Pedals. Mainly, for the comfort of the pedals, they just feel like crap on your feet.

They work Great! well made well built. everything had loc-tite on it and after taking off the old peddles an screwing these right on they have had "zero" issues. these pedals make some high $$$$ pedals look like a walmart special LOL
