We've used this waffle maker for a few weeks. It heats up quickly. The waffles we've made have been golden brown. The light and tone that indicate the waffle is done are very helpful. We like that it can store on its side (the handle latch keeps the lid closed). Extra waffles freeze well and fit in our toaster just right.

We've been looking for a good quality, classic style (not belgium) for about 2 years. They're very difficult to find for some odd reason. We made the decision to purchase this one based upon other customers reviews. It's still not a classic. It's more like the 'in between' waffle maker. It's not as thick, but it's the same size pattern as a belgium. We really like it. Our children are constantly requesting more. It cooks evenly, is easy to clean and it's also easy to understand how to use it. It doesn't get insanely hot to the touch like some others we've purchased. Overall we're super happy with this one. I would highly recommend it to anyone who isn't a fan of all the belgium waffle makers.

No matter what I do I cannot get uniformly cooked waffles. I've tried different recipes, different amounts of batter, different distribution of batter, different temperature and time settings and nothing has worked. Quite disappointing considering there are so many positive reviews here! Sad because I sprung for the pricier waffle maker in hopes of better results. See photo below.

My husband is very picky about his waffles, he likes them crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. This is not easy to do. I looked at America's test kitchen equipment reviews and videos and this is the brand they highly suggested as the best. It has deeper grid than most waffle makers, however not as deep as a Belgium waffle. I tried a couple of recipes until I found the one that worked best. We are very happy with the investment and the waffles coming out of this maker.
