This is the best. It's real rubber around the magnets
Shane C•January 17, 2018
This is my third gun magnet. This is the best. It's real rubber around the magnets. The most popular one on Amazon say it is, but it is plastic, I don't like that. This Lockdown magnet is two magnets spread apart, which works great because one side is plenty strong enough for a fully loaded pistol, so it's like having two gun magnets for the price of one, which this one is cheaper than the other two I have! I have multiple ones spread apart for magazines and guns. I won't buy any other magnet again.
Oh, and the mount system is perfect. The screws are recessed so they stay away from your firearm, and it's metal so there's no movement. I believe this is truly the way to go.

Good value and works great

Works good enough to hold my full sized MP. Things to consider before buying gun magnet. If you have a plastic gun only your slide can make contact with the magnet. On MP's the slide is unever, due to cutouts and slide serrations. The gun still stays up fine but not as securely as I have hoped. I feel that If it wasn't a double part magnet it wouldn't hold the gun up. I didn't use the supplied screws but rather used two zip ties in the center to hold to the furniture.
Great strong magnet for firearms

Installed this on my 2009 Cadillac CTS. Found a metal bracket behind the carpet on the side and was able to screw it there. Had to use a much longer screw than provided and 1x4 wooden block as a spacer so carpet won't suck in.
Regarding the magnet itself, it is very strong and holds my M&P Shield 45 without a problem. Won't move unless I grab it, but incase I need to draw my weapon, I can grab it easily. Magnet is coated in some sort of rubber so won't scratch your firearm.
Overall, great product and value. Would buy again.

Works exactly as advertised. Has several different sets of hardware for different applications. This magnet seems at about the perfect strength. Holding it by the magnet and shaking it off takes ALOT of effort, while it comes off in a good shooting grasp while mounted without excessive effort. Mine is mounted under my steering column. One warning, if you have an aluminum framed firearm like some J-frames or a Chiappa Rhino, you will need to find specific places the magnet can contact steel for a solid mount. The cylinder is the only part for my Rhino, as the top strap is too thick. It will cause the firearm to fall of easily. Both of my semi autos (XD mod 2 45 and FNX 45) work almost anywhere.
Gun Magnet

I saw someone that had one of these in his car and thought it would be perfect for under my desk. We have a small office that provides service to the public and sometimes i'm all alone in the offices. This was easy to install (I even did it by myself) comes with a couple of different screw types for the type of surface you're going to mount it to and is surprisingly strong. Yes I might be a little flower of femininity but I carry a Springfield full size .45 auto and this magnet holds it without problems. Need a .45 auto stuck to the side of your desk within easy reach? I did, and i'm not sorry that I got this magnet. I have no issues with this product, I even ordered one for our Office Manager's desk.
