2017 Nissan Maxima Cvt nightmare
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 10, 2023
I bought this car cause my Dad bought it for his girlfriend new but when he found out how many miles were on the car and all the test drives , the car as been through, she would let anybody drive the car. He offered me the Maxima at a price I could not pass up , it was just way to cheap and easy. I took over payments and put a a lot of miles on it and I didn't have issues until I hit 124,000 miles. I did proper upkeep and everything and then it would shake and slip. I took it to the Nissan place and the wanted 6900 bucks to replace it
The car was not even paid off yet.I took a Uber to Auto zone and bought all the Cvt Fluid they had and even bought the Cvt recharge.I had it flushed and refilled and I also installed a aftermarket Atf cooler that was in front of the radiator with its own fan.
That was 70,000 miles ago and I have had No issues at all. I change the fluid every 3rd oil change and I have been good to go. They mechanic told me I was wasting my time but I showed him the mileage and he checked the trans so he knows its the same.
I only use Lube-Guard for all my cars and I have never had a transmission go. I am getting rid of the Maxima cause Nissan is stupid I don't get putting a crap Trans in a car. My friends Subaru has 250K and no problems, My Sisters Honda No Problem. everybody that has a Nissan , PROBLEMS
So Far Working Very Well - 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer
A Reviewer✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 25, 2023
So far it is working very well on my 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer, better than the factory original oil. Mitsubishi Web site and manual had some contradictory information, so to be clear, they recommend that the Transmission Oil be changed every 30k miles. By the time my car had neared 30k the transmission was making weird noises and malfunctioning. I would suggest a Drain and Fill every 20k miles. If the Transmission Oil Pan doesn't have a Drain Screw, buy a new pan that does. That way it is easy to do. You should change the Transmission Filter every 60k miles or sooner. It is located under the Transmission Oil Heat Exchanger, 4-bolts, easier from the top, if you remove the battery, and mounting brackets. Every 60k or sooner. Look it up. I'm just telling you what I do. Some of these cars were sold with a Transmission cooler located under the Drivers Side Wheel Well. If your car doesn't have it, than it is a worthwhile investment to install a Transmission Oil Cooler. Be aware that using this oil voids your factory warranty, or maybe not, since the manufacturer certified this product to be compatible. It's a complicated issue which I won't get into.
14' Honda Civic EX CVT service.

This fluid, as it performs, is well worth the cost. It eliminates shudder, the factory Honda Fluid at 60K was already taking it's sweet time to shift into reverse and drive which gave me some pretty drastic shudders in idle when taking off or stopping. The CVT has been operating very smoothly and consistently for the past 15 thousand hard miles. (Several vacations, mountain drives, extreme heat and stop and go, plus, my wife only has a 2 mile commute to and from work, so the car never gets up to temp) I'm writing this review because I'm getting ready to service it again. I wish it was listed to last longer, but it is what it's is I suppose, and every trans shop recommends this particular CVT fluid.
I'll take it.
Ns3 Nissan Quest
Rdvrico64✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 20, 2023
Fill my 2016 quest with this fluid. It uses ns3. Seems to work better than the OEM. A lot better acceleration and no more shudder. On the shudder I did use another additive with the fluid change so not sure which one helped the most. But transmission feels great.
CVT for my CR-V
Don Sweet✓ Verified PurchaseJune 23, 2023
My CR-V was due for the fluid change on the transmission. Took the fluid to the dealer, since my car is under warranty and they installed it! Works very smooth.
