Great crash bars
Joel K.✓ Verified Purchase•August 24, 2023
Great crash bars. This is my second big adv bike with Alt Rider crash bars. They are very strong and have a great finish. I haven't dropped the Super Tenere with these bars on it yet, but I did drop my R12GSA which had Alt Rider bars and they protected the bike as advertised. I have used other brands on other bikes and they were good, but Alt Rider is noticeably heavier built. Their customer service is great also.
If you plan on installing electrical accessories (fuse block, lights, etc), I would do so before installing the bars. Access to the panel is somewhat limited once the bars are on. You can pop the four fasteners on the panel and move it around in order to get to the battery, but anything more than that might be a little tough.

Best product Design, but mine came with a defect

By far the best design for the S10, but mine came with a paint defect. It's not worth the hassle of return, so I decided to live with it.
Perfect.

Just installed these AltRider lower crash bars on a 2019 Super Tenere ES.
As the customer ratings indicate, you can buy these in confidence that you're making a good purchase. The price point may be higher than some other brands, but you're paying for a higher standard of engineering and quality. Nobody intends to drop their bike, but it inevitably happens, and crash bars are arguably the most important part you'll install on an adventure bike to protect your investment.
1) The bars arrived very well packaged -- boxed, bubble wrapped, and sealed in bags. Unlikely to receive any shipment scuffs or damage.
2) The included instructions were concise.
3) The fitment was perfect, and I mean perfect. Quality hardware, and the bolt holes align like a factory component.
I don't even like filling out reviews, but I'm happy with this purchase and would buy them again.

but I was surprised how easy it was to install

My wife bought this for my 2012 Yamaha Tenere 1200. I thought I'd have a several hour project on my hand, but I was surprised how easy it was to install. It did take a little force to get the second side lined up with the holes, but it wasn't a problem. These are heavy duty crash bars and they have a very nice finish on them. I installed these when the battery was out of the bike on a charger. I was able to get the side fairing off with a little bit of difficulty. The battery was a little tough to get in after these were installed. I recommend you have the battery in place and install a wire lead for a trickle charger so you don't have to take the battery out after you put these on.
Best install ever.

I purchased the AltRider Engine Guards for my 2017 Yamaha Super Tenere in May 2017. This is my second Super T and I knew what I wanted for the bike before I bought it.
This is a well built product made in the U.S.A. It went together flawlessly, every mounting hole was exactly where it needed to be and it included the best installation instructions I have ever used. I installed the engine guards and an AltRider skid plate in under an hour.
