Great Blade
Lost in Texas✓ Verified Purchase•November 22, 2017
First off let me start by stating that I've been using DSC 4-blade razors for over 6 months. I shave my head bald twice a week and very rarely do I get any cuts from using the DSC razors. So naturally I was very pleased when I read that I could buy the very same blades at a discount on Amazon. This week I used the Dorco branded 4-blade razor for the first time and as expected, it snapped right into my existing DSC handle. I could feel an immediate difference with the very first stroke across my stubble-covered scalp. The blade felt sharper, almost too sharp, immediately causing me to be more cautious. When I was done I had 3 nicks on my scalp. Maybe it was just a defective blade - I don't know. I will try a fresh new blade and report back in a few weeks.
Edit:Looks like the first blade I tried was defective. These are no different than the ones from DSC. They work great.

but there are many things to like about this razor

Only time will tell how the blades hold up, but there are many things to like about this razor. The handle is solid, feels more expensive than my old more expensive razor. The swivel on the blades works really well, easy to follow contour of face!
To be fair, I also changed shaving cream before using this razor. I went from a can of Foamy to a tube of Cremo. That stuff is amazing!! Started using to much but have since adapted to using less. In fact, between this Pace 4 razor and the Cremo shave cream, it makes shaving almost enjoyable!!
I've only used this razor about 6 times, same blade, so it's kinda early to speak about how the blades last. But the handle and action of swivel is great. If you decide to try these blades, do yourself a favor and get a tube of Cremo too. Best shaving experience I've had in my almost 70yrs!!

Inexpensive, works OK, but not the best I have ever used

I bought both the 6 blade and the 4 blade to compare. My beard is very heavy and I have to shave every day or I look like Grizzly Adams after a couple days.
The good- These blades are inexpensive and work OK. The bad- I don't think either the 4 blade or 6 blade are as sharp as some of the other mainstream brands I have used. I was spoiled by the German Wilkinson Sword (Shick Hydro?) blades when they were available. The brand new Dorco feel like my Wilkinsons after I had used them a few times, just a tiny bit dull. I think the 6 blade Pace shaves closer than the 4 blade, but pulls more. The handles work OK for a while but I have gone through a couple in the past couple years. The heads are TIGHT on the handle and feel like you are going to break the handle when removing them.

Very good value - - good shave at far less expense.

I shave my head and face daily. The best razors I have used are the Gillette Mach 3 and Fusion. The problem with daily usage of these blades is the price of replacement blades, even at Costco prices. The Mach 3's are $2 a blade and the Fusions are $3.55. I go through a blade every 3 days. I tried Harry's Shave Club - - the blades through that service cut me badly when I shaved against the grain. They dig in like a wood chisel.
I saw the Dorco Pace razor and blades on a Google search for good, inexpensive blades. I ordered a package from Amazon with the 4 blade cartridges. I have used the razor to shave my head and face 3 times now. The blade shave was very close to the Mach 3. It took a while to get used to the more ungainly handling of the razor - - it took some extra effort to keep the blades in contact with my head, but the shave was good and close and didn't cut me.
Overall, after you get used to the "feel", these blades and the handle are a great value. I look forward to saving a lot of money in the future while getting a close shave.

Better than Harry's

My favorite cartridge razor has been the PII 7oclock 7oclock Pii Trac Ii Razor (Compatible With Tracii Blades) by 7oclock. The blades are not available on Amazon for some reason, but the handle is. Weird. However, with just a little searching one can find said blades. Enough of that though this review is about the Dorco/Dollar Shave Club razor. As I said my favorite cartridge razor has been the PII, this razor does nothing to change that.
The four blades do a decent job of shaving, but I always felt like they were tugging in certain areas instead of cutting clean. I noticed this most on my neck. I was forced to dig out my Tend Skin to deal with the bumps, something I hadn't had to do in a long time. I think the last time I had to do that I was using a Harry's razor. Compared to a Harry's razor the Dorco blades cut through stubble like an expertly wielded Samurai sword cutting through warm butter. In fact if I didn't know any better I might think I was getting a good shave. Sadly I grew up around men that shaved with double edge razors and had a barber as a young man that offered straight razor shaves, so I do know better. Having said all that, these razors don't suck, but they don't really shine either. If your goal is to save money and suffer as little as possible, this could be your razor.
