Seems solid, but the 1/2" barb (not 3/8") made it incompatible
Anonymous•September 22, 2017
This seems solid and well-made, but I had to return it because the barb size was 1/2", while my others are all 3/8", making it incompatible without messy adapters.

Barb connection was 0.5" on my flask
Gunnar Hole•February 9, 2016
I just received the flask this evening. It arrived in good condition. I was expecting a 3/8" barb connection based upon the other review. Mine has a 1/2" barb (OD of barbs is ~0.539" - FWIW the 3/8" barbs on my other equipment have an OD of ~0.409"). Not a big problem but I will need to make another trip to the hardware store for an adapter and a different hose. The #9 stoppers look like they will work fine.
Affordable Filtering Flask

What you need to know: 3/8" hose barb, size 9 stopper
You probably already know what this is used for, since filtering flasks aren't exactly an impulse buy.
The construction seems solid. It didn't implode when I put it under a vacuum, and it handled a hot plate without complication. The barbed port is sturdy and accepts a 3/8" inner diameter vacuum hose. The inner base isn't perfectly smooth, so a stirring bar can jiggle a bit, but still functions fine.
Lost a star because there are no volume graduations on the flask. Not something major, but why not put them on? Still, for the price, it's a great deal. 2000ml is a lot, so make sure you really want a flask this big.
