I bought this belt a little less than a year ago. Probably one of the pricier belts I've paid for, so I was hoping it would last longer than the cheap belts I've bought over the years.

I first had problems with the buckle falling off the belt. It seems like the issue was when the buckle is pushed in towards the belt, the latch would release. I happened to be in the bathroom and the buckle fell off into the toilet! I was pretty upset about that. I contacted customer support and they immediately sent me a new replacement. This is definitely not a user issue like some people have said here. This is a design issue. As others have said, the holes in the "leather" eventually start wearing and it seems like the teeth have issues. I was told that I could slowly cut off the holes and start new ones to prevent it from happening. I don't mind doing that, but eventually I'm going to run out of material to remove. The customer service team was very responsive and shipped me a brand new belt, so I was happy.

I have a new problem now with the buckle where the pin has come off the buckle and the latch comes off completely. I have a feeling that the fastener eventually got loose over time and having the buckle come off and hit the floor surely doesn't help. I was hoping to get a new part to replace it but they eventually shipping me a new replacement buckle. The responsiveness wasn't as fast as the first time, but it wasn't bad. I wish there was some solution for my old buckle as I don't want to throw it away just for one missing piece.

Overall I would give the belt a 3 star rating. I really like the look of the belt as it is one of my favorites. The design is questionable, especially with the belt material and buckle issues. Apparently I'm not alone as I'm reading others having the issues too.
The customer service I would give 5 stars. They were really nice and immediately shipped out replacement parts without wasting any time at all. I love that about the company. I just wish I didn't have to deal with them so much.

Maybe I just have bad luck, but I don't think I'm very hard on my belts. I'm not overweight, so it's not like I'm putting a lot of extra stress on it while I wear it. I hope this replacement buckle stays in one piece. I want to find a solution for the old buckle, but I'm doubtful. Hopefully others will not have the same experiences I've had since there are also a lot of good reviews too. Hopefully their next version of this belt will fix the issues mentioned in the reviews. If so, I would consider buying it again. If the belt is the same exact design, I would be hesitant to drop more money on another one.

I ordered the belt and selected Next Day delivery since I needed the belt the next day. I was with in the time frame for it to happen. I even received an email stating the Guaranteed Delivery date. But the delivery date was changed later that evening to the following day. I was disappointed to say the least, I wasn't able to wear the belt on the day I needed it. However, when I called Amazon Support they resolved my issue by refunding me the Next Day delivery charge, so the customer service was appreciated.
Once I did receive the belt it came in a nice box and clear instructions how to trim the belt to my size. I wasn't sure what to expect so I trimmed a little big just to be safe, now that I know how it works I will be trimming it just a bit so I don't have such a long end going through my belt loops.
Since I have had the belt for a couple of weeks it is very impressive. The buckle is heavy duty and weighted, it feels like it will last. The belt is well made and flexible. The real test is the months of use and how well it will hold up. Clipping a phone holster to the side, sliding it through the belt loops etc. I am not easily impressed, being the last belt I used was a well made Dockers belt($38), that had holes and stretched over time. Now I look professional, my belt looks professional and I have had comments on how nice the belt looks. Once I show them the release mechanism and give them a feel of the belt they want to know who makes it. I tell them SlideBelt, it is so nice to be able ratchet it a little tighter when needed and release just a bit for those business lunches. With the new release mechanism it is simple and no one know you are doing it. I would recommend this belt, I might even try a different strap to add to my new belt collection. So far it has exceeded my expectations.

I really wanted to love this belt. Awesome design. Looks very classy and sturdy. I love that you cut it to length. You can make it fit perfectly. The click design is great. Feels very strong and will likely hold up a long time. Out of the box I thought it to be a five star perfect belt.

Now for the negative and this is a huge one. Within the first week the belt had scratches on it. Not huge deep scratches but strange swirly scratches on the face. I think if I lean over the kitchen counter or something like that, if there is light pressure against the belt it rubs light, but visible, scratches into the face of the buckle. The large buckle face looks nice but when all scratched up I wish it were not so prominent. The belt still looks pretty good right now because I have been very careful leaning against anything but I am not sure it will last. I'm confident this belt will hold up in durability for a long time but in appearance I am unsure.

A side note. I wouldn't really count this as a negative but a word of caution. I was sitting next to a friend in a class and felt my belt was a little loose. I pushed it in one click to tighten it perfectly. The click is fairly audible. My friend looked over at me a little funny. I was proud of my slidebelt and didn't think much of it at the time but later I realized I am sure he thinks I farted. Not like a huge loud fart, but one of those little poppy ones. You know when you are trying to hold back a big one in and a snappy little fart slips out. The click does not sound just like a fart but most people are not accustomed to a slide belt. Although the snap from my lower regions came from my belt, according to Occam's razor, I just farted.

Changed my review from 3-4 stars for great customer service. Was told they would take care of me if scratches get too bad. I have not taken them up on this. I am being very careful with the belt as far as leaning up against anything that would scratch it and it seems to be holding up well.

The clasp that you lift on to release the slide mechanism does not always stay clasped. The very first belt/buckle I ordered I had to return it once to get a new buckle. Luckily the second buckle worked as intended. Several years later the belt finally wore out so I ordered some new buckles and belts. I have now gotten 2 black buckles in a row that won't stay clasped with any slight movement which causes the slide mechanism to disengage and the belt becomes loose. I love those belts but they have to refine how they make the clasp stay down because if I have gotten 3 out of 5 that don't work then clearly something is wrong with the way it clasps.

I have using this belt for 4 months now and still absolutely love it! I wear the belt daily (Mon-Fri) and I am constantly moving around. I also use a hip case for my mobile phone. The belt leather has actually been one of the first belts not to wear down where I slip the case on the belt. From my perspective it is very durable. On the other hand I have noticed wear on the edging of the belt where it passes through the back pant loops. As for the buckle, it has proved to be very reliable. The finish has not worn down or chipped away nor has it lost any grip on the belt leather.

I still rate this belt a 5 star and a must own in any man'a wardrobe.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: MAY 2015

Before purchasing this belt I researched many track style belt options available online. The main reason I ordered the Slidebelt over the other options (Trackline, Mission Belt, Nextbelt, Easybelt) is because of the integrated design of the release mechanism into the buckle. The other options all have an additional lever that protrudes from buckle that you have to depress to loosen the belt. I feel this really makes a different for the overall appearance of the bucket and belt. As for the operation of the buckle, I find it very easy to put on and take off. I like the idea of only having to apply pressure to the outside portion of the buckle instead of trying to locate a lever to release the belt.

I read many other reviews on this belt and felt some of them may have had some merit when discussing quality. While I have only been wearing the belt for 1 day now (with plans to provide future updates), I haven't noticed any of the quality issues that have been discussed in some of the other reviews. All the craftsmanship appears to be in good working order and functioning correctly. While the belt is genuine leather and has a soft feel to it unlike some other genuine leather belts I have owned, which I prefer. Something small to note is the company, not Amazon, immediately contacted me (via email) to ensure my order arrived and everything was to my satisfaction. I did not have a reason to reply, but this shows the company's proactive nature when interacting with customers.
