I am a beginning woodworker and have recently purchased Nick Offerman's book called "Good Clean Fun". Great book, and in it I found a few paragraphs about cabinet scrapers. Nick says to get yourself a good set of cabinet scrapers and learn how to use them and it will change your life. Well, I had never used a cabinet scraper and didn't even know what they were for....but I took Nick's advice and bought this set. I watched a couple You-Tube videos on how they work, how to use them, and how to sharpen them and found out that Nick was spot on. I now use them for scraping dried glue, scraping factory varnish off wooden handles so I can oil them instead, scraping imperfections from panels or frames, and the list goes on. This set seems to be high quality steel and very sharp out of the box, and the sharpener is included. Thanks Nick.
never underestimate the need for a good scraper. The burnishing rod is nice too

never underestimate the need for a good scraper. The burnishing rod is nice too, and helps keep the scrapers working their best. This is great set for anybody, especially beginners.
What I really like is the burnisher

I'm seconding another reviewer that while the burnisher is Crown, the actual card scrapers are "Clifton," whoever/whatever that is (still has a Sheffield mark, though). And of course, if you're buying card scrapers new, you need to (or probably already do) know that you'll need to spend a lot of time with them in order to work them up into scraping shape. I think this is a nice set if what you really want is a burnisher (which actually seems to be of quite good quality) and don't mind some decent card scrapers thrown in. But, if you just want card scrapers, you can also use the back of a chisel, or the length of a really good quality screwdriver to burnish them.

As stated in other reviews. These are not Crown. Still seem good quality but Amazon should not be selling these as a Crown product.
Wish I knew of these earlier

Very pleased with how well scrapers work. Much better look than sandpaper and not as messy. Out of the container sharp enough to do the job. Just need to figure out how to use the burnisher. Haven't tried yet.
