Buyer Don't Beware

This stuff is so nice I am almost tempted to try it on my sunglasses. It wipes/dries up with no residue-allowing for easy follow-up CLP application; and is highly effective when combined with a toothbrush or nylon bore brush. Saw a review recommend spraying into barrel and plugging both ends with wadded cleaner patches- this works great. Beware of what you may find in there though; and I recommend doing the process with CLP rather than solvent if you only have a copper bore brush. (if have both- solvent soak, then nylon bore brush, put CLP soaked patches through, then hit it w/ copper bore brush, then more patches w/ CLP, then dry patches). Or just do it however you please, but use this stuff b/c its less bad for YOU and your gun won't know the difference.
Pricey but worth it.

All those years of using Hoppe's #9 or Copper Solvent and dealing with the toxic chemicals and odors. The Frog Lube is environmentally safe and has no odor. It certainly would have settled a few arguments. Plus, the CLP green lubricant smells like wintergreen and is an excellent lube, cleaner and protectant.
I have used several cleaners and this and SLIP 2000 are my go to. I prefer the Frog Lube.

I love Frog Lube, but the solvent not so much.

Full disclosure I have drunk the Froglube Kool-aid and use the CLP on all my guns. Yes, there is a debate among the community of gun owners that feel inclined to post opinionated rants on various gun forums, (as distasteful as that might be) both pro and con for this line of products and am I am firmly in the opinionated pro camp. Having said all that, I love Frog Lube and wanted the cleaner to work, but I don't see that it does.
Yes, it smells good and is easy on the skin it might even make a nice facial scrub for oily skin and or a quick rinse for mild gunk in action of a gun, but as for harder deposits or grease, it does not appear to do anything.
This product will be used to rinse out my shotgun barrel after clay shooting until gone and will not be replaced.

so understand from the start that this isn't going to be super aggressive. That said

First, be real with your expectations..this is not brake cleaner, or mineral spirits, or whatever your grandpappy used to degrease his nasty rifle that he brought with him to go fight ze germans. This is a BIODEGRADABLE solvent, so understand from the start that this isn't going to be super aggressive. That said, this product does work very well if you are thorough and patient. I bought this when I transition my rifles from Hoppes to FrogLube products. After thoroughly degreasing and applying the paste, the FrogLube solvent seems to work fine.
Terrible compared to other Froglube products

I have used the other Froglube products now for a couple of years and am pretty happy with their performance considering that they are non toxic.
I decided to try the solvent a well and have to say I am deeply disappointed.
As an example when you get it into the barrel then agitate it with a brush and push patches after you left it soak in, the patches start coming out clean pretty quick giving you a false sense that the barrel is clean.
However, if you then start pushing patches with liquid CLP through after you thought it was clean you get a lot more additional fouling out.
The cleaning/breakup capabilities of this so called solvent are pretty much nonexistent.
I usually don't bother writing reviews but wanted to warn other people. Again, the other products (paste and liquid CLP) are great and if you are starting out with Froglube or are already a user and we're considering this do yourself a favor and skip this one!
