Edit 2023- this thing has survived several moves, and assembly and disassembly. It is still my favorite piece of furniture and still going strong. Incredible little guy, love him.
Currently fighting three cats for Kotatsu rights. Despite the instructions being in Japanese, it was stupid easy to figure out how to put this little dude together, and it even came with a cute little tool so you didn't have to get anything out. Just attach the legs and BAM, you have a Kotatsu.
The box arrived a wee bit beaten up, as if it had gotten into an altercation with the person carrying it, but the table inside was fine.
This thing is very comfortable, and the adjustable heat is quite handy. I'd like to add further review for the winter when it'll really get its workout, but for now it is summer and so it is just hanging out as my coffee table. Hopefully I find a futon I like soon, but until then I have two blankets. And cats. 3 cats.

We used the absolute crap out of this thing this winter. The cord for the on and off switch is nice and very convenient. It's perfect for doing puzzles. The top is able to rotate, so we just turned the whole top when needed. It gets super warm on the legs though. We rarely ever had it on high.

I absolutely love this kotatsu table! Unfortunately I got it at the end of winter so I only used the heating function once to test if it was running. The comforter over the table alone was enough to keep it warm for the last few cold days.
Unfortunately the edging of the table was cracked in one spot and that's not very pleasing as it raises concerns about how long the table will last and at this price point I would expect better quality control.

This thing is amazing! It arrived in 7 days from Japan via Fed Ex with the free shipping, which was strange but welcomed! The estimated delivery date was in April, so I was very happy that it came before Spring arrived.
Very quiet heater. It doesn't feel like there is a fan, but the heater is caged in a velvet-coated metal. There is a thermostat knob and an on switch. It's nice that there is also a compartment for the cord when not in use. The quality was better than expected. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic, but a heavier plastic. The whole table is relatively light still, however. The white side of the table board is more like a grain instead of pure white, but the other side looks like wood from a distance.
Very warm, and I highly recommend. I did use a 1000 watt step down transformer with this (120V US outlet to 110V Japan) and it works great!
