Tape The Seam!
Parrhesia✓ Verified Purchase•July 18, 2023
I have had two of these units for a few years. They have worked great for me. However!
The plastic case is made in two parts, which snap together. I recently dropped one, from waist height, onto an area rug overlaying a hardwood floor. The case snapped open. It could have been snapped back together again, except that the two halves of the case are connected by two very, very thin wires - like lengths of sewing cotton. The wires were broken by the impact at the point of their soldered connection to the other half of the case. (I could, I suppose, have tried re-soldering them but that would entail finding my soldering iron, etc.). Putting electrical tape over the joint between the two halves of the case would definitely increase the chances of the timer surviving such a fall.

Easy to use as a clock timer or count up timer
Great design - I use it to track my work time

I use one of these to track my actual, productive work time. I use the memory function to set the timer for 30 minutes. When I start working, I tap the start/stop bar. When I take a break for shift to something non-work related, I tap it again. Each time I finish a 30 minute segment, I mark a tick mark on my desktop calendar. Keeps me honest about how much time I'm actually spending on work and 30 minute segments help keep me focused.
I've also used the count-up function to time how long it takes me to complete tasks.
I like the size of the unit - about 3" x 3" (estimate, I didn't measure). It doesn't take up much desk space, it's very stable, and it sits at the perfect angle for comfortable viewing and an easy tap of the start/stop bar (which is nicely sized).
A basic but well-designed product that makes life a little more manageable.

This is the second time I have purchased this exact timer. I wanted one in each of our homes. The original one is 2 years old and is perfect. This one is not. The battery lid does not fit properly and I found I have to tape it closed so the lid doesn't slip off. It still operates fine but I am disappointed in the overall product.

Got this to replace a thirty year old one. Love it. It has more features than I will ever use, but it also has more capabilities that I will definitely use like more than one thing timed at a time. No longer have to ask Alexa to set another timer for me. LOL. Easy and intuitive to use. Very happy.
