Not the same as they use to be

Somethings wrong with B&M beans. As a longtime b&m bean connissour I know the taste and smell from across the room. These are different. They must have changed something. These didn't have the rich heavy taste. They were three different shades of color and too small. They were also still hard even after cooking! I tried three different cans and the problem was the same with all three. Another fine product that decided to wreck their product after getting me hooked on it. What a shame.

I grew up with B&M Baked Beans and have not been able to find them in any grocery store for many Years!!

The reviews are correct! These beans are delicious! My husband LOVES canned baked beans (better than homemade) and he always loved a brand that no longer makes the old recipe (I wasn't a fan at all). So, I've been on the hunt for a brand that would be a compromise for us and B&M fits the bill. They are very flavorful and will be a staple in my pantry. He loves these and that's a good thing!

Since Heinz changed the formula of their Vegetarian Baked Beans back in the 1990s (they chose to mimic the brown sugar-and-mustard tangy sauce that their competitors were using), I needed to find an alternative. For several years, I ate serviceable, if slightly runny, no-frills Vegetarian Beans from White Rose, and then those folks went out of business a few years ago. And then I discovered B&M's Vegetarian Beans...thankfully. It tastes very much like the old, mild Heinz recipe, although B&M doesn't use tomato sauce -- they use molasses. I guess I wish B&M would have used a tomato base, as I believe a tomato base tastes better, is less like "frankenfood" and is decidedly healthier than molasses...but alas, these beans service my needs quite nicely.
