I appreciate the quality of this studio light kit
Art By Clint•October 27, 2017
Part of the items were damaged during shipment, contacted seller and they promply sent a replacement piece. Great product, better than the other listed for less. At this price range I appreciate the quality of this studio light kit. If I need more lights I would definitely reorder this kit again.
the product does allow you to learn how to use such equipment before investing in better quality items

I've bought LimoStudio before and although the quality of the materials used to make their products are not durable and/or long lasting, the product does allow you to learn how to use such equipment before investing in better quality items. As in most cases, you get what you pay for. As before, the stands are very light and need to be weighted. If using larger bulbs such as 65 and/or 85 watt CFL bulbs, it is highly recommended that weights be used to avoid tilting. I've had several tilting incidents despite the upright structure of the stands. My large 85 watt bulbs CFL often comes into contact with and/or falls within 3/8 of an inch of the umbrella's metal rod. Due to the low heat of CFL bulbs, being in close proximity is not an issue. However, the bulb touching the rods concerns me. No negative incidents yet, but everyone recommends against direct bulb-rod contact. With higher heat producing bulbs, direct contact may cause issues. I again bought LimoStudio items to learn what types of lighting (box vs umbrella) work best for me before I invest in more expensive equipment. For learning students and/or novelist who don't want to invest too much, these items are good.
Cheap Fire-Hazard China-made lamps are not even worth the "low" cost to burn your house down
Regular Everyday Normal Guy•October 26, 2016
Where do I start? This kit is nothing but cons:
1. Bulbs were dangerously loose from it's base when it arrived
2. Stands are very cheap and flimsy. Don't expect the legs or neck to be sturdy.
3. One of the light switches stopped working and it was permanently on, so I had to unplug the cord to turn it off
4. One of the leg hinge screws was missing. It wasn't even screwed in so it fell apart.
5. Using the loose-based bulbs it came with, there was a short that caused a small fire that almost set the backdrop on fire. This product is a fire hazard (not UL certified), and poorly wired. Not being able to turn off a 120V switch is very concerning!
6. Do a Google search for "LimoStudio fire hazard" and the first 5 results are all fire hazard complaints on this product and it's bulbs.
It works, but not well. Build quality is bad, don't expect "OK" quality. The bulbs they come with are not very bright and are fairly useless, luckily I had bright LED bulbs.
The kit's price is "low" cost of entry might entice you, but the chances of you getting a kit as bad as mine will probably be high. It might not even work, so it might be a waste of money. Inspect your kit as soon as you get it and return it if it's complete junk.
*UPDATE*
I contacted the seller KimOutlet and they would not issue a refund. You will be SOL too if you buy from them.

Great product. Has a nice storage bag for transport.

I didn't have big expectations and was surprised on how nice this worked out. It comes with the light bulbs and everything is packed well. It also has a nice travel bag for storing away or transporting. I would probably not feel too confident checking this as luggage as the bulbs are large and fragile but overall this is a great studio. The lighting was awesome and made my product pictures really turn out nice.
Good starting kit

I bought this set in preparation for taking pictures of my newborn granddaughter. I was very impressed with the package that comes in a nice (big) carrying bag.
As other reviewers have already indicated, the lights are not bright enough. They should work OK for video and for photos at high ISO and high aperture, but it is not enough for small aperture or fast shutter speed unless you crank up the ISO (thus the 4 star). Also, the cord length is about 6 ft, so depending on where your electric plugs are located, plan on having extension cords for some or all of the lights.
On the other hand, the stands and umbrellas can be used with speedlight units and they work very well. You would need to buy separate holders for that, because those included only work with the bulbs (I bought a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TYDBYQ/ref=cfb_at_prodpg).
All in all I am satisfied with the product
