This set was purchased as a gift for my 11 year old granddaughter. She likes it very much but complains that the knives aren't sharp enough to cut meat, etc. She and her mom likes that there is a place to store everything without taking up too much space.

My 5 year old grandson likes to help his mom cook, especially the prep, but unfortunately he cannot yet use a paring knife and his mom's other utensils are too big. I was going to but just a few of the utensils but by the time I added them all up for another 15 bucks I could buy this whole set. Had no idea what to expect, but I dove in anyway. This set is terrific! He loves it and he was able to help chop strawberries for the jam we were going to make, . The knives work really well are a good size and although you have to use a sawing motion I wasn't having to hover over him with the fear that he would cut himself. The only thing we took out to save for later was the peeler which is too sharp for a little guy. I found myself reaching for the stirring spoon and knives because they were handy in the caddy and they worked really well. Good quality and so many tools to learn to use. Definitely worth the money. I paired it with the Williams-Sonoma Kids In The Kitchen cookbook for a complete birthday gift. I know he and his younger brother will use them both for a long time.

My kids love helping in the kitchen but it was always hard to have them help with their favorite part, cutting. I'm astonished at how well these knives cut. I don't know how they do it!!! I decided to get the whole set and made it an Easter present for them along with matching aprons for both my girls and myself. We have used this several times already. I have it on the counter where the kids can grab what they need. My oldest now likes to measure her snack crackers. Lol. It has gotten a good deal of use already and I can see it being used for years to come. Makes me feel better that these utensils are so much safer for kids. They now help with peeling carrots too! Bonus for me to get help with food prep ;) My girls are 3 and 8 for reference.

This is the essential kit for a child in the kitchen. My daughter was so excited when she received this gift. My sister also bought another one for my nephew which he equally loved. The utensils are all very nice and the plastic handle detaches from the rubber spatula so they're easily cleaned and kept sanitized. The caddy holds all of the utensils it comes with and has plenty of room for anything extra you'd like to put in. This definitely encourages my daughter to get into the kitchen and help. She feels like she has her own special stuff and she does a great job taking care of it.

Bought this for my 3 year old and she absolutely loves it.My 18 month old uses this kit too when he wants to help in the kitchen. The knives aren't great because the jagged edges are a little too deep so the children have a hard time cutting veggies with a smooth stroke, but they do the job of keeping little finger safe. Otherwise it is a very good kit for young children helping prepare at meals. I find they also eat better when they have helped prepare the meal.
