But tastes great.

A bit small portion for what you get. But tastes great.
Compared very poorly to a similar product from a competitor.

I had some Dean & Deluca chocolate cherries that I really liked and I've been trying to find a more accessible and affordable type... so I tried these. Sadly, I did not find these to be very good.
These are my specific criticisms:
- The individual cherries are too large. Many of the individual pieces were so large as to be sort of gross and awkward to try to eat in one bite. I took to breaking them in half, but this was messy and not so convenient.
- They were too sweet. There's no reason for anything to be that sweet. It kind of burned.
- They had an odd taste; I think it was the powdered milk taste of the cheap chocolate mixed with some sort of weird flowery taste.
Part of the size might be the way there were two layers around the cherry center. I can't remember if the one's I liked originally were constructed that way or not. Anyway, this type had a milk chocolate layer and then a cherry colored layer on the outside.
If they wanted to help correct the taste problems of the product, I'd say they should replace the milk chocolate layer with dark chocolate. That would help a lot to balance out the red layer.

Better buy than other more expensive ones

I ordered these to replace the Harry and David ones I've been buying every year for Christmas. Those have gone up to $30 a pound plus $10 shipping. The price on these were very reasonable. They look just like the Harry and David and no one but me noticed the slight flavor difference. I will order these again.
