Cosplay Review

I have bought enough of this and used it to give it a fair review.

First thing ever one wonders is "is this Sintra?" Answer is that it is very close. There are some differences. I have received varying rigidity in my sheets of Celtec. From close to Sintra to very flexible. True Sintra is pretty rigid and the smaller you cut the more rigid it becomes, the Celtec on the other hand stays pretty flexible all the way to smaller pieces(bonus for decorative pieces because you can hand shape without heat) You'll find it won't hold it's shape over large areas as well as Sintra when heated(due to flex) and needs multiple heats to set a softer bend.

The flexibility however does not mean it's less prone to snap, it's more IMHO. It is also a lot softer on the surface, don't push your ruler or even pencil tip too hard. I ruined pieces because I wanted to change a line and when I erased it there was too deep an impression made, something I hadn't dealt with using Sintra.

Cutting is much easier than Sintra. On Celtec I could occasionally cut in one pass making curves much easier than Sintra. I used breakaway knives and even the small one worked fine.

Heating is a bit easier and heats extremely fast. So watch out! Coupled with it's softness heating can be tricky if you need to make a firm bend because hand/glove/whatever impressions are easy to make. I suggest some forms or flat surfaces.

I would recommend using both Sintra and Celtec if you can swing it. They both have advantages and disadvantages. I found that if I didn't have Celtec certain parts of my armor would have been more difficult especially more form fitting pieces. So hope that helps a little more than what I had when buying!!!
