Beautiful and inexpensive curio cabinets.

My wife is an avid collector of elephant figurines of various sizes and made of materials ranging from wood to marble and bronze. These started cluttering our counters. So, I started looking for a curio cabinet that can fit in the niche under our staircase that has been empty. The Coaster Home Furnishings 950179 curio cabinet has the exact height and half the width of the niche under our staircase. So, I bought two of these and set them side by side. Now our elephant figurines sit nicely inside these cabinets and we got quite a few compliments from our friends. We're very pleased.
Overall I'm really happy with it.

Looks great. A nice little display stand for a few collectibles. Some what easy to put together, I had a hard time getting all three glass panels into those two plastic strips. The painting on the roof and base are clean and scratch free and the class is crack free, I saw a few comments about their product being damaged which concerned me but thankfully nothing was wrong with it.
It came with four feet but I decided not to put them on. The glass shelves have these little clear rubber feet the keep the glass from touching the wood. This does come with a wall mount to secure it to the wall to prevent it from falling over if a kid or pet bumps into it.

Not bad for the price. A mini-Detolf from Ikea.

If you're familiar with Ikea Detolfs, then this is very similar. The build instructions are exact. The key differences being height (Detolf is about twice as tall), the framing (it's thin metal rods on a Detolf) and the texture of the base and top is much more of a smooth plastic than faux wood. Also, the shelves are not spaced out as far, so you won't be putting 12" figures in it.
A Detolf will run you about $69 at Ikea, so while this is $20 more and half the height, it's a reasonable purchase due to the free shipping (was 53 pounds; the UPS guy waited to watch me carry it in as if to say 'FU').
I conceded to purchase this over another Detolf cabinet simply due to needing something shorter to hold my computer case on. I would much rather have driven the hour to Ikea to get another Detolf were it not for the height considerations. I appreciate the free shipping for that reason.
I also ran Dioder lights in it, and the framing does not accommodate that like the thin rods in a Detolf. I ended up using wire concealer that I painted black to run the wires. The surface of the top does not allow the double-stick tape to hold, so plan to use the metal supports that you screw in if you use LED bar lighting. The glass shelves will hold the tape no problem. I've had them in all my cabinets for 3 years and none have fallen (assuming you install them correctly per instructions.

Not worth the money

For more than $100, I expected more. I feel like this cabinet should cost $50. The product description says the material weighs less than particle board. For a display cabinet, I'm not sure that's a good thing. The glass is very heavy and seems thick, so I'm guessing that accounts for the price. Also, when installing the inside supports, if you tighten the bolts too much, it will pull out the metal thread holes that were pre-installed in the supports. It did not appear that they were glued, so I had to do that myself. So do not fully tighten them. Stop once the supports feel solid. It does seem relatively solid once completely built. That's what is keeping me from rating this poorly.
A very nice display case

A very nice display case. It seems sturdy and has no wobble once assembled. Assembly is straight-forward and simple. The tolerances are a bit tight, so care must be taken to fully seat the glass sides or the top will not be even. A little wiggling of the glass panels is needed to fully seat them in the slots in the base and top. My wife loves the case. We placed a couple of stick-on cabinet lights (battery operated) underneath the top wood panel for illumination. Our unit sits on top of a buffet.
