Read instructions carefully.
Consumer66February 10, 2018
Does a good job. The instructions are a little bit vague. Read carefully. To charge,BE SURE the unit is in the on position as you plug in the USB cord or it will light up but not charge. Charging in the on position takes 3-4 hrs. Also to transfer files to PC,instructions say to access unit in MY Computer(in control panel). True. Click open RECORD file. True. Click open DVR file. Can't find this. Says no NEW Folder required. False. The files did go into the RECORD folder but in my case I just created a NEW Folder(titled MP3). Then just dragged each of about 38 wav files manually and dropped them into the new folder. All went in and play perfectly. The files stay in the PC and they also remain in the recorder itself. Instructions don't say this but it works. Now can send or share these wav files with others via Email ,etc. Sound quality is good thru either PC or even a plug in speaker in the headphone jack.
Great for school!

While this voice recorder isn't the best out in the market it certainly does exactly what you need it to do. The price doesn't break the bank either. I use this several times a week for recording class lectures in nursing school & then listen to them on my study days and it's perfect. You can't rename files through the recorder itself but I rename them when it's hooked up to my computer, it makes it easier to scroll through the actual recorder when you're playing back. Also, the files are in .WAV format which I wish it was MP3 just to make it easier. Not a big deal though. The battery life on this thing is amazing it has been used every day for four days constantly and didn't die at all! Really glad I got this for nursing school!
Headphone jack broken, battery doesn't charge

I thought this voice recorder was fine at first, but after using it for about six weeks (3 hours per week) it has completely stopped working.

When I first bought the recorder the headphones didn't work, which amounted to a quirk that I could live with because I wasn't planning to listen directly from the recorder anyway. I figured that's what you get for an inexpensive product. But now I've realized that the battery was never charging this whole time, despite having it plugged in often.

So for what it's worth, the battery life is great! It worked for six weeks. Unfortunately, that was also the lifespan of my recorder.
Awesome.

This is perfect. I bought it to record my college professor's lectures and it works beautifully. It is easy to use and figure out. It recorded the whole lecture without problems and then I was able easily transfer the file to my laptop with the included USB cord. I highly recommend this to other college students.
Okay for dictating with fair playback.

I purchased this to record lectures at a college course. I do not plan to take it to class because it barely picks up a voice 15 feet away. I believe this may be my fault though, it does clearly say it is a dictaphone - so maybe its only for dictating. I was going to return it, but they are charging over $6.00 for shipping, so to me its not worth it. I did test it for dictating, and it does play back FAIRLY clear, not great but fair. It is tricky to learn to use, I had to fiddle with it quite a bit, and the directions it came with are VERY small print. Also with the buttons being symmetrical, it is kind of hard to push a single button on one side due to being unable to grip it well enough without grabbing both sides at the same time. The buttons are sort of sticky and hard to push. It is very lightweight and came with a few different little gadgets as described. The mic was a little of a challenge to get in, it only goes in half way smoothly. I had to force it in all the way, and was afraid I was going to break it. I was going to purchase and attempt to use a different mic to see if it picks up better, but I figured I'll just go ahead and purchase a different one instead of putting more money in this one that Im not sure is going to support a different mic. It came with 2 songs on it, I did play them to see what the sound was like. For the size and weight of the device, I would say it does well. Im just used to an Apple device for music. I am learning how costly some of these recorders can be, so overall, for the cost of this one, its a good deal. Just wasn't what I was looking for. I am giving 3 stars because of the button features and the fair playback.
