I've wanted a Carter Bowl Gouge for a while now. The quality is great and are the best in the business. When I ordered this on Amazon, I thought I had ordered it through Carter & Son in Seattle since I had ordered a 3/4" Skew at the same time. The Skew chisel was nicely packaged and had plenty of filler paper to cushion it. When the Bowl Gouge arrived today, the box was flattened completely. There was no filler material whatsoever to protect this expensive tool. The chisel doesn't appear to be bent, but I had to confirm that by rolling it on a table top. Very disappointed in how Taylor packed this. Lesson learned.

Better than I expected! Initially I was concerned about the aluminum handle and balance but it is perfect! Very sharp pot of the box, easy to use, and cuts great! Fit and finish are spot on! Perfect tool!
