Packaging was DISMAL as there was no outer box, and the canisters were shipped in the original manufacturer's box. This is s big no-no in my estimation. However, they managed to survive the lack of proper shipping with only one little chink in one of the lids (not bad enough to affect the usage, so I am overlooking it.) They are well-engineered and sleek looking. The materials are a little on the thin, flimsy side but not bad. They are what I would call utilitarian and not fancy. Goes well with today's stainless steel, industrial looks. Amazon needs to ship them in an outer box, though, unless it wants them to be returned due to being damaged during shipment. Mine were lucky to come out with only one little chink. I recommend the product though.

I love the color - I have red accents in my kitchen and these go very well. They also match the bread keeper I just bought. What I don't like about them is the size. I wanted to be able to get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one, but it only holds 2 1/2 pounds, and the next smallest one only holds about 2 pounds of sugar. I put powdered sugar in the third - and it's not quite big enough. The smallest one holds brown sugar. I'm not sure how much, but it's nowhere near what the plastic package holds. I think I should have gotten 2 sets - but in my very small kitchen, there just isn't room.
If you don't care if you can't get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one - go for it. They are really pretty.

I've seen several negative reviews based on the fact that these containers are too small to hold a standard 5lb bag of sugar or flour. Well of course they are! The biggest container in this set is 63oz and a 5lb bag of sugar or flour would equal 80oz. To those people, I ask: did you really expect to fit 80oz of stuff into a 63oz container? Really? Maybe next time read the product description and or do a quick google search for unit conversions. It's not rocket surgery people.
Other than that, the build quality seems sturdy enough, no rust spots or dents, and while 1 of the gaskets was loose on opening, all it took was a couple of seconds to press it back into place. All in all, I'm satisfied.

I like the appearance of these canisters very much. I like the way they look on the countertop in my kitchen. They were packaged very well for shipping and arrived safely. They are made of glass which is enclosed by the red surface material, which purportedly is stainless steel. I only recently received them so I have no real knowledge about their long term utility as yet. Each is narrow in diameter, clearly useful for storing pasta, rice, beans, etc. but not flour, sugar, brown sugar. The "window" on each allows you to easily see what is being held in the container. I would like some larger ones for the functions of holding flour and sugar. It is surprisingly difficult to find these items.
