The Best Sauce in a Jar!
M. DoveNovember 4, 2017
This sauce tastes like fresh, homemade sauce. It is unbelievable that it actually comes out of a jar. I rarely buy jar sauces, only on occasion for mixing into recipes when there is no time to make my own. And I never serve jar sauce over pasta! However, when I first saw this sauce for sale, I was impressed by its simple ingredients, and being tired from a long day at work, I decided to give it a try. It is so very mild, sweet, and delicious; it is low in acid and does not trigger my stomach issues. I was never more delightfully surprised! This sauce is worth every penny!

I tried this after listening to unrelenting positive reviews by my favorite radio DJ, even though it cost 3 times what the large volume sauces cost. It was watery and tasted fine, but not warranting the price differential. Save your money, go with Ragu or other volume manufacturers.

Seriously the best tomato sauce in the world
No Sugar and just simple ingredients you’d use at home to make Sunday “gravy”

Though I generally review entertainment products on Amazon I do occasionally review food products and after returned from the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York , this product was sent to me by the manufacturer for an objective review. I didn't have a chance to try it there but I wanted to try it at home. I followed up when it didn't arrive but then it came last month.

I received samples of three different varieties and this was the first one I tried. Yes, I make my own "gravy" in the summer but generally use jarred sauces. Victoria "“ which I reviewed last year "“ and the supermarket staple, Barilla, are my usual jarred varieties.

What impressed me most when I looked at this jar (which is probably twice the size of other brands "“ was the list of ingredients. It's got tomatoes, onions, basil, garlic, parsley and that's it. NO SUGAR! I can't remember a jarred sauce I've tried with no sugar or sweeteners.

Then I tasted it right from the jar. It was very tasty. I next heated it (not to a boil to cook it more) and poured over plain imported linguini (I like Trader Joes or Anna Brand) and added a bit of grated locatelli cheese and (along with a glass of Italian red wine, had a great meal.

I will say that this variety is light in seasoning and taste. It's there to let the TOMATO and Basil flavor come through.

It's not cheap but then these jars are heavy and need to be shipped (unless you are in Brooklyn and can go to their restaurant "“ where they sell it.) But I'm not reviewing price here. A jar will serve at least 6 people as an entrée (2 lbs of pasta).

I am certainly looking forward to trying the other two varieties that they sent me,

I hope you found this review both informative and helpful.
