Absolutely -- you cannot make a new thread with a hexagonal die. -- the round ones must be used. This worked like a champ..

This is a very poor quality product. It was unusable as received because there was substance in the threads that seemed like casting sand though I can't explain how casting sand could have gotten in the threads. Having cleaned the threads, I saw (under a microscope) that the threads were poorly machined, making it difficult to create even a barely useable screw.
