Light, comfortable, and sharp

These shears cut through heavy brocade with ease and stopped it from fraying. The handles are comfortable on arthritic thumbs. This is my third pair of pinking shears, and they are much easier to use than my others were. Since they have plastic handles, they are much lighter than the older metal ones were.

I bought these for my Grandma. They are very stiff and were too hard for her to work. We tried lubrication on the joint screw, no go. :( If you have strong hands you won't have a problem, but if you're buying it for your 76 year old Grandmother for her to finish making a quilt she started, pick a different brand.
Arthritis Okay; Great for Crafts

I have arthritis and was concerned that these might be too heavy for me to use; I had to give up an older pair that were made of a very heavy, solid metal. These are lightweight. They may be a little bit flimsy, but I am delighted to find that there is a pair of pinking shears I can actually use. I don't sew, but I like using these for crafts. In December I cut the edges of greeting cards--old cards as well as the samples that get sent me in the mail as solicitations--and mount them on the center of a package that's wrapped in a solid color. The picture is attractive enough that if I have to stack presents to take somewhere or put in a mailer, I can get away without using a bow. Sometimes I use the card as a gift tag and just write the to and from information on its edges.
I'm really happy with these. If you are a seamstress or tailor and looking for serious shears for professional use, I'd check other reviews. I've only used these on paper and cardboard.

These are great for household use or as a basic pair of scissors to keep around. At the price you can order several since scissors can never be found when needed. No matter how many times you try to get them returned to the same place they alway seem to disappear so buy more than one! Great price for a good pair of scissors.
