This a Bottoming tap, not a taper thats pictured.
Nice cheap tap not labeled where made Marked HSS , size marking a little small, comes in plastic box to protect the cutting edges , I am using it for aluminum so it will be perfect for my application , teeth cut sharp , decent rake and relief grinds are decent but not polished . not a bad price for the size and application .
good stuff

This tap cuts good clean thread. Holds up to 4150 tool steel, stays consistant.
For AN-12 threading

1-1/16 is used for AN-12 fittings.
Drill = 31/32 into aluminum.
HSS should stand up to mild steel.
This is one big tap, far outside the capability of my biggest T-wrench. Had to apply a 10 inch adjustable crescent.
Looks like good quality

Looks like good quality. I have not actually cut any new threads with it, but I did use it to chase threads in special about 40 steel nuts. I spun it in and out with a drill. It worked like a champ at this task. Cleaned up the threads nicely and didn't chip or break. One star off only because I haven't actually cut a new thread yet and can't say how well it works, or how long it lasts under tougher jobs.

Seemed high quality enough for my job. Worked fine bottoming out a blind hole in an E46 M3 cast iron diff housing.
