I ordered 2 of these units. They were easy to assemble and seem quite sturdy. And based on the actual product deserving of 4 stars. However, I might caution people against purchasing them based solely on the packing/shipping. Both boxes arrived mangled to such an extent that they were only held together by the copious amounts of packing tape that was layered on. Even with all the tape there were gaping holes and the optional hardware bag for one of the units was missing(having most likely fallen through the holes in the box). As such I was forced to use one of the units in the optional 2 piece configuration which was not my original intention. So again, the unit itself is quite good, but be warned about the packaging/shipping and be sure to check for all your pieces when it arrives and make sure you have the time to wait for replacement pieces if necessary(I couldn't afford to leave my garage in a state of disarray any longer).

Ordered 2 of these. Assembly was ok. Not hard at all. Very flimsy metal for the frame. Just using the mallet to set the cross beam shelf supports bent the metal on the feet end. Had to bend them back into place on 2 legs to add the plastic covers.
I now understand now why these are a lot cheaper in price than most others this size.
Oh, and the boxes arrive in terrible shape. Both of ours were very sad shape by the time they got to our door. Looked like they had been tossed around and dropped a lot. The shelf corners were bent. Not enough to impact function, but still.
Over all my opinion is MEH.
For our garage we need more to finish our project, but won't buy these again unless they are like $50.

Couplers and bottom post caps missing. So I have a halfway built rack and I now have to wait until who knows when for the missing pieces. Box was crap and the pieces were not organized in any way.

Update - Missing pieces arrived and finally able to finish building the rack. An additional gripe - the design of horizontal bars "steals" space because the space between them is narrower than the actual height between the shelves.

This shelving unit by Edsal worked nicely for our application. We placed these shelves in our basement and fits the Sterilite bins nicely. As the shelf sits (assembled in the stock photo) we would have been unable to store the 18 gallon bins on each shelf, so we altered the install a bit. We purchased two shelves and arranged them so we ended up having four shelving units (2 shelves on each, and 1 extra shelf from each package that we didn't end up using), then we stacked two 18 gallon bins on top of each other on each shelf. A little bit more inconvenient when we have to access the bottom bins, but it helped us stretch these shelves to gain the most storage possible. The 18 gallon bins fit nicely side by side, and 3 will sit next to each other with about 14" of additional space left on the shelf (which I use for storing wreaths on end). Ultimately, there are 6 - 18 gallon Sterilite bins on each shelf. Weight isn't an issue for us because we are only storing holiday decorations and off-season items.

I'm giving 3 stars due to 2 items...
1) we thought we were purchasing EDSAL shelves, however, the inside of the box states that this is a HUSKY shelf. We were just thrown off by that since we had read that Edsal was higher quality than Husky. Clearly, that information we received was incorrect... they appear to be one in the same.
2) The connector that is provided doesn't install as easily as the rest of the unit. This was an issue when we originally wanted to use this shelf for the full 72" it provides. But when we decided to create two shelving units out of each box, we no longer had a need for the connectors. Other reviewers state that they didn't use them and just installed a shelf to connect the two units. We tried this initially and it worked, but we only installed it temporarily until we changed our mind on the layout.

For a shelf this size, it's really nice to have free shipping AND free returns. We originally ordered 3 shelving units, and one box was missing 50% of the contents. It worked nicely that we didn't end up needing it anyway.

I ordered my first set of these shelves back in February. They were great. All the parts were there and the shelves were nice and sturdy. Then I ordered 3 more sets in March. Of these three sets I only set up one right away. It too was very good. Just tonight I went to set up the remaining two shelves and one of the units had a missing connector part and a bent long shelf rail. I tried straightening out the bent part and I tried to use the shelves as two separate pieces but could not make it work as the bent piece would not fit in the hole. I am hoping I can get the bent part and missing part replaced. Please let me know if you can help. These shelves actually deserve a higher rating but I can't give that with out being able to use them.
