Good shelves but a piece was missing.
James Steele•February 18, 2017
The item itself is great. It's sturdy, has good shelf space, and is easy to put together. The only issue I had was when the package arrived, it had been torn open and taped back shut. While putting it together I realized it was missing 1 of the 4 couplers that is used to make the shelf sections connect and make one upright tower-style shelf. Without this one piece, stacking the shelves would have been dangerous and resulted in a catastrophic crash in the garage. I was fine with switching to the two side-by-side shelf configuration, but was very disappointed to know that such a crucial piece was missing. So, I love the shelves, but don't know who is at fault for the missing piece- delivery company, manufacturer, or Amazon.
Missing parts - they couldn't care less

The good: These are strong, high quality shelves. I purchased 5 of them for basement storage and am happy with the product. The bad: The boxes they are shipped in are flimsy, allowing the product to get bent/scratched but worse, allows parts to fall out and go missing during shipment. Edsel sent me replacement parts within a week of me calling, but they acted like they were doing me a favor. As long as you know this going in, they are a decent purchase.
Great shelves for the price

These shelves are awesome! We bought a pair of them for the garage and I may buy another one or two. Assembly is fairly easy and the shelves can hold a lot of stuff. I like that you can change how the sides of the shelves to either create a lip, or create an easy surface to slide stuff off. My only real complaint is the way the supports of the shelves attach together - it could have been done a little bit differently/better.
If you have a bunch of small items, you may want to put some something on top of the wire rack so it doesn't fall through. I knew this going in and it doesn't bother me.

Cheap, shaky garbage

Terrible quality! Terrible assembly with center connector! I must be spoiled from owning Gorilla Rack brand shelves. I wish they still made them! These shelves are terrible. The side rails flex with your bare hands. Some of the pieces that join the higher and lower halves were crimped too tightly so the rails bent trying to pound them in. I then used a shelf between the two halves to hold it together but it was just too shakey. I am stumped how the review rating is so high.
The reason is because the couplers are HORRIBLE if you don't know what to do

I bought two of these. The first one took me an hour to build. The second one took me 15 minutes. The reason is because the couplers are HORRIBLE if you don't know what to do. I think their spec of the coupler gap might be a little off. Or after they paint or powder coat it, it makes it super tight. So what you need to do is widen the gap w/ a flat head screw driver a LITTLE. Then you can easily bang them in w/ a hammer/mallet. I was banging it w/ a mallet and it wasn't moving at all until I made the gap a little wider.
Also when you first start to build it from the bottom shelf, you think it is unsteady. But once you add the other 4 shelves it becomes very sturdy. I like how the shelves have a gap so it holds things inside and it doesn't fall off the shelf. This might be bad if you want things to hang outside of the shelf or have big items that you want to slide in and out of the shelf.
But I like this a lot and am thinking about buying one or two more.
