An Oil Producer's Dream!

Despite being nearly 40, my T-zone produces enough oil to shut down the rigs of the entire state of Oklahoma. Within an hour of washing my face, my makeup is practically sliding off my skin. With combo skin, trying to find day moisturizers that don't dry my face out (water-based) and don't increase my grease and acne (oil-based) has been practically impossible. I've used Cetaphil for years, but cringe at the bad chemicals it contains. I've tried more natural brands than I can count, but they either dry my face so badly I feel like I have lupus, or they cause my face to drip with grease within an hour of washing. My night mask is covered with pure coconut oil (love it!), but I desperately needed an oil-control day moisturizer. I took the plunge with this moisturizer, and the water is FINE. I was astonished from the moment I applied a bit to my face - my skin is matte without being dried out, smooth, moisturized, and no grease! I swear even the bags under my eyes are tighter within just a few days' use. Couldn't feel more natural and unobtrusive. I got the anise version and love the scent - I know a lot of people don't like this, but I enjoy black licorice, this scent dissipates entirely within a few minutes, and it sure beats the alcohol smell of most natural products. Good enough to eat. My only quibble is the container - it pushes out too much product and is awkwardly shaped. But finally, I have found the perfect oil-control natural moisturizer!

I love this moisturizer! The licorice smell is a bit overwhelming at first but I've gotten used to it. The hubby even said that he doesn't mind it. I considered getting the sensitive skin one but after researching the benefits of Star Anise Seed Oil I decided the smell would be worth the benefits. I bought the facial wash and the toner and have been using all three together for 1+ weeks and have already noticed a huge difference in my skin. The cleanser is the best cleanser I've ever used! My face is so clean that when I use the toner there is not a trace of makeup left on the cotton pad. Following that cleanse up with the perfect amount of moisture I haven't had any reactions or negatives like I normally do with new products. My foundation goes on well over it as well as my primer. I especially love that I can use it around my eye area as well. Number one thing for me is that I haven't had any clogged pores and problems with breakouts from it. I do hope they make a version with SPF soon and then it would be absolutely perfect! Oh, the packaging was nice and secure being wrapped in plastic as well as coming in a box. I really love the pump style container, makes it easy to dispense the perfect amount as well as keep it fresh from dirt and bacteria. I hate containers you have to stick your fingers into! Yuck!

I wanted to wait to review this until I'd been using it for a while. I'm happy to say that I really like it. It's gentle and soothing for sensitive skin. It makes my face very soft. If you've read any other reviews then you know about the black licorice scent. I personally enjoy it, but it is strong. Goes away in a few minutes.
I think I'd like this for more of a summer moisturizer. For my winter skin it isn't *quite* hydrating enough. It is good under makeup because it's very light and doesn't sit on top of the skin like some lotions. I think it would also be good as a nice light night-time product if you don't like going to bed with your face a giant waxy greaseball.
A little does go a long way, but it's still pricey so I wish it was a little bigger.

Love this moisturizer. I have used a well known brand for years; however, there was a bit of an issue getting my order so I decided to try this one. It is amazing and I am buying my second bottle. It's very lightweight and smooth. I have sensitive skin and tend to break out but have had zero issues with this moisturizer. I love the scent, it smells fresh and clean. I've been using this moisturizer for about 2 weeks now. I LOVE it. My face is so soft, and I only use it at night. The licorice scent is pretty pungent, but only for a few minutes. I didn't like it at first but now I find it pretty pleasant. If that scent keeps it from having preservatives, I can definitely get over it!
