Appears to be a top notch tool. It gets great mention on youtube which is why I bought it. However, I think it is for someone who has the basic electrical knowledge to go with it. The instructions are geared toward someone with that prior knowledge and this is just a tool for testing. I do not have that depth of knowledge, electrical stuff has always baffled me...multimeters intimidate me...so unfortunately I had to return it.

Yeah it's pricey. But, the real value is it's ability to apply power (or ground) to the device you're testing. Like an interior bulb on a car. It's a fast... fast!! way to get the problem identified. The probe's default is as a volt meter. But's it's the ability to power or ground a device that makes all the difference when tracking-down a problem. It's money well spent.

BTW, this particular Power Probe model doesn't come with a case to store it in. But, for $9 Caseling makes a case called "Case for BLACK+DECKER LDX120C" that's a perfect fit. It's a classy case too with a zippered pouch on the inside to hold little stuff too (like the Power Probe's various attachments).

Amazing. I absolutely love this tool. I have already done some extensive rewiring jobs and chased down a few pesky shorts, and haven't even used half of the functions! If you do a lot of electrical repair on cars or trucks, or even forklifts and skid-steers, get one of these. I cannot say enough, it is just that cool of a thing to have right in your hand.

This is the test light everyone will be using in the future. Really like being able to aply 12V to a component to energize it, with out rigging a jumper.
