Product is excellent but make sure that you have the right laser.

Take your time removing the old laser. Watch the video before starting the process and use the video as a reference while making the repair. Get a white sheet of paper and tape all screws to it as they are removed. Make notes on the paper. This will keep the screws safe and provide a guide for the assembly process. Don't rush the repair and don't bend or put force on any of the smaller plastic parts once you get to actually removing the old laser. The replacement laser is very well packaged. There are a couple different replacement laser models. I took the wii apart before ordering to verify which replacement laser model to order.

First one arrived damaged in shipping, but I was cross shipped a replacement promptly. Customer service was excellent, and the part worked perfectly. This was very easy to install, there are plenty of youtube videos on it. The best pieces of advice I can give you if you are thinking of ordering this are:
#1: There are TWO different versions of the Wii Laser pickups, that go with two different versions of the drive, disassemble the drive and read the RAF-xxxx number printed on the optical pickup ribbon cable BEFORE ordering replacement optical pickup. This one is for the newer drive with the smaller PCB.
#2: Make sure you have some soldering ability as there is an ESD protection jumper that must be unsoldered AFTER the ribbon cable is connected to the DVD Drive PCB before this will work. If you have no ability to solder or don't know anyone that does, order a complete DVD replacement drive instead of an optical pickup for a more plug and play friendly solution.
#3: There is a white plastic bracket on your old pickup that engages with the sled motor that must be transferred from the old optical pickup to the new one, it is held in place with a single #00 Philips head screw. Don't forget to transfer this bracket after removing old pickup, but before installing new one.
Also I would highly recommend ordering from NexTec seller if you want the nice tri-wing screwdriver included with your order. Some people who have ordered from other sellers complained about not receiving this essential tool to do the job (it is NOT fun to disassemble a Wii without a decent tri-wing screwdriver).

Our Wii had the typical problem- it wouldn't read any disks. I had ordered a replacement laser from another site several months ago and had been putting off the repair. I finally got around to opening up the wii and like the other reviewer, found out I had ordered the wrong one. Since I needed this version, I ordered this one and viola- I now have a working wii. The part came quickly and it was a nice touch to have the tri-wing screwdriver included in the price. I love having the ability to fix things without paying a high price. Instructions were easy and there are plenty of videos online to help with this repair. I'm a happy customer!
