Installed easily on a 2006 Subaru Forester, check engine light is gone, runs great, was a lot cheaper than the local auto parts stores
The only non-OEM sensor that'll work

Solved CEL codes for VVT solenoids on a 2009 Segacy 2.5
Subaru's are very picky about non-oem sensors, but this one works just fine!

Just get a 10mm ratcheting wrench to do the job. Remove the battery so you can have space to work. You'll also need a screwdriver to pry up the piece below this one a little, that'll give you some space so you can access the nut on this solenoid in order to remove it. All in all, about a 10 min job.

2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5i variable vale timing solenoid. This is a direct replacement on the driver side front of the 2.5 naturally aspirated Subaru engine. The passenger side is 917-247. I started getting an engine code P0026 (driver side solenoid) and the RPMs maxed out at 4000. I replaced the factory unit with this new unit and cleared the codes and the engine runs perfect! One problem getting this out is the bolt located underneath is partially blocked by a small ear on an aluminum housing making it impossible to get a 1/4" drive socket and extension in there. I used a die grinder to grind the ear back just enough to get access. After removing the bolt and electrical connection you can twist the unit while pulling hard and it will slide out. This part is the exact size of the stock unit and installed with no problems.
