Finally a "fat man" sized Gi. I am 6'-2" & 280 and Very Happy with this size A6 Gi.

I am 48 and just getting into Mixed Martial Arts. I am 6' - 2" and weigh 280-ish with a sizable gut, (mainly from too much soda) and I have had a horrible time finding a quality Gi that fits well. On my journey to lose weight and get back some mobility I have cut out most sugar snacks and all soda. I have purchased Gi from other companies in the largest size that they offered... A5, but nothing would fit. Fuji offers a size A6 that fits really well. The Sleeves are just a tad bit long, but the length of the pants is perfect. The material is good quality and seems very durable.

I really like that the logo is NOT splashed, huge, all over everything. I like the clean "adult" look of the Gi. I personally think it has a professional look about it. If at some point I want to add patches or embroidery, this Gi offers lots of clean space to customize it as I like.

Since Fuji was there for me, as I start out - an over weight beginner, I will stick with them down the line after I lose the extra weight and get into shape. Brand Loyalty, and Word of Mouth advertising is something I can do for Fuji, and it is something that other companies like Sanabul & Elite Sports NEED to realize. After returning the Gi from Elite Sports because the A5 was way too small, Elite Sports told me that they do not have any thing for someone my size, and are not planning to any time soon. So the gear bag and sparing gear that I found on Amazon from Elite Sports, to go with the Gi I had purchased from them, will be deleted from my watch list. That stuff will now be purchased from Fuji, along with all the gear for my Daughter and Grandson.
Great Gi!

I've been needing a 2nd gi for quite some time. I read all the reviews on the Fuji gi and decided to give it a try. I went to the Fuji Sports website to review the sizing chart. I'm 247lbs, 5'10" and have a 36/28 waist so I fell between the A4 & A5 sizes. I also looked at a new belt since my current one was a bit too short (120 inches - Honor Athletics - size A6) and decided on the Fuji A5 (138 inches) belt : Fuji BJJ Belts .

I go by the standard of my belt is one size larger than my gi, so I ordered the A4 Fuji Gi. Upon arrival, I tried it on... the pants fit very well, slightly long... quite roomy and soft. The jackets fit was roomy, fit well on shoulders, not tight in my armpits, allowed full motion. The sleeves were just about right, about a 1/2 inch too long. I know all gi's shrink a bit after washing but I still wasn't sure. I decided to contact Fuji Sports customer service ([email protected]) in reference to my dilemma. To my surprise, they responded to my email within 30 minutes! They stated that with a cold wash and hang dry the gi would shrink approximately 1 in maximum... that if I thought that would be too much, they recommended I get the A5 size and to shrink it to fit.

After trying the gi again, I figured that the 1 inch would be perfect so I decided to stay with the A4 size. I found the gi's quality to live up to the reviews... solid construction and very soft. I will be rolling with it next week and will update my review after some time.

**UPDATE**July 24, 2013**
After training with this gi, I found the jacket to be a bit snug around my waist... working on losing the gut :) The pants were still a bit long after washing them but I didn't want to put them in the dryer since the jacket would also shrink. I will keep this gi for future use once I drop a few inches. I ended up ordering a 2nd Fuji Victory gi, size A5 this time... the jacket is larger thus fits much better. I've already washed and dried in the dryer 2 times and its still too big... the sleeves are just past my hands and the pants are still too long. I'm taking it to my tailor to have the patches sewn on and do the required adjustments.

As far as training with the gi goes, I have nothing but praise for the quality and workmanship of the Fuji Victory series. Very soft and strong, looks good and I see it holding up well.
Great starter gi - heavier than most

This was my first gi when I started jiu jitsu and became sort of the standard by which I judged other gis. It is quite a bit heavier than other gis I have owned, but also very durable and a good value. I tend to wear my gi over spats and a rash guard. Some of the lighter ones have a hard time staying in place and side up and out of my belt. This thing is heavier up top and so it tends to stay in place. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with the same sort of rope string that gi pants do, so I ended up having to buy a different draw string because the one it comes with isn't as good in my opinion. It's a good gi though.
Good material

good, thick material. My son has no issues with moving around in ju jitsu. Its not heavy or limits him at all
Looks good but no label on it

I bought the black one and the white one.
The black one comes with the attached label but the white one does not have any labels.

But overall I like the white one better. The white one is larger than the black one. And they have few design differences between them like the image on the pants and etc.

The biggest difference is the size. The pants of the white one is larger than the black one and I feel more comfortable with the white one tho I like color black a little bit more. If your weight is just in the mid line of the sizing range or even below than you should go with the white color one.
