Great Solution for Knife Storage at a Good Price
G. Linn•November 16, 2017
We had several sets of knives sitting on our countertop in various wooden and plastic blocks. Perhaps we could have gotten by with fewer knives. But, sometimes you use one and then put it in the dishwasher so you need another one. My wife decided she wanted her countertop back.
In the past, I had used my 3D printer to print a crude "knife holder" that fit in a drawer so she asked for several more of these. Knowing that my design was a little "flaky" and knowing that I also have a CNC machine (hobby grade), I first thought about making custom holders from wood. I made several "test" designs, but it was soon clear that there would be a lot of "trial and error" in this project and I had other things I needed to do.
So, I looked around for blocks like this that I could purchase. I purchased this one of these to see how it might work. It worked just fine in the drawer my wife had for it. So, I ordered 2 more, knowing that the overall width of 3 side by side was somewhat wider than the interior of the drawer. Since I had a table saw, I cut each of them down just a little so that all 3 would fit side by side. It turned out that I only had to take about 1/16 of an inch from each side of each block for a perfect fit. By taking just a little off, the functionality was preserved.
It seems as though there are quite a few drawer knife blocks out there, some costing much more. I'd recommend trying this block to see if it fits your application. The quality was very good and I like bamboo.

One slot too narrow for knife.

I liked the concept of an in-drqwer knife block, and the sustainability story about bamboo. This fits my drawer just fine. but it is flawed. One ray is set off-center and on an angle. A larger knife will not slide into that slot. The knife in the small slot on top slides to the side and off center because the slot is not level. Too expensive to send back. I am giving it a whirl, anyway. I would do pictures if I knew how--but I have never bothered to learn!!LOL. I am sorry that I could not leave a better review.
Terrific Product & Customer Service

I received my order on time however the block was slightly damaged in shipping, I believe. One of the knife "grooves" was narrowed because the side piece was crooked. Still usable though...and I went about installing it into one of our kitchen drawers. A few days later I left a review for Shenzhen Knives, noting the slight damage on arrival. Within hours I received an e-mail back apologizing for the quality of the received product, and that they would be sending another in its place. I didn't ask for this at all - my review was 4 stars and positive - but greatly appreciated their going above and beyond to make me happy and satisfied, and to stand behind the quality of their product too. So at no cost to me the new block arrived last week as promised. And it's in perfect condition too! Thank you, Shenzhen, for our positive interaction on this order. If you are reading this, please know that my family is donating the other knife block to a local startup that specializes in teaching kids how to cook, work in the kitchen, etc. It will go to very good use!
To everyone else - if you are looking for a simple, affordable, sustain-ably sourced, beautiful knife-storage solution, that actually saves a bit of space too (for me, at least), look no further than this In-Drawer option from Shenzhen Knives.

Couldn't be happier!

There are more expensive In-Drawer knife blocks out there but I can't imagine them being nicer. This was exactly what I needed to get my dangerous assortment of knives off the bottom of the drawer where they rubbed and dulled each other and hid where I couldn't find them. The Shenzhen In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block is very nice looking and fits in my 2 1/4" drawer perfectly. I have a variety of knives and everyone fits in smoothly and is easily accessible. I used a drawer divider to snug the knife block to one side of the drawer and contain my covered knives on the other side. I threw out the oldest and never-used knives (3) and love how it all looks. Where has this been my whole life? I guess I just never knew to look for such a thing.
Great space saver!

Fits perfectly into my drawer along side the silverware organizer. Holds all of my knives including an 8" chefs knife and a 10" bread knife. Smaller slots are great for steak knifes and paring knives. Keeps my counter space free but allows safe storage of my knives. I make sure to thoroughly dry my knives before adding them back in, since while it says it's resistant to bacteria, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
