Love these filters

Love these filters. We make two seperate pots a morning and use the same one. Still works well. Easy to change out every month and mark on the holder for each month. Will be reordering them soon.
Dazzle or Fizz

Undecided but clearly not as good as the Official "Mr. Coffee" Brand. When the Mr. Coffee Brand Filter is first used the difference in how the coffee tastes is Clear, Without Doubt, and Improved. These filters do not supply that initial impact and the thickness of the filter medium/charcoal is without doubt less thick and with less charcoal than the "Mr. Coffee" Brand Official filters. All that said, I do think there is some benefit albeit slight in taste as compared to no filter used.
Works as expected

I give this 5 stars due to the fact they are an almost identical replacement to the original one that came with our coffee maker and the price is an exceptional value compared to OEM. I don't think the coffee tastes any different whether you use the filter or not but I do find that it does filter out any sediment that may be in the water tank.

If my only option were to buy the filter from the manufacturer and pay their price, I wouldn't use a filter but for the price of these I use the filter.
Excellent replacement

At first I was a little apprehensive about using non-Mr. Coffee filters, but the first pot of Coffee with one of these filters turned out, surprisingly, better than Mr. Coffee's filters - usually with Mr. Coffee I can still taste chlorine, but with these, nada. The cost of replacement filters is ridiculous at $3.00+ for a tiny disc with a little activated carbon in it...

I also cut one open - they are different than Mr. Coffee filters, the center portion appears to be thickly caked felt of activated carbon vs activated carbon granules in the Mr. Coffee filters.

To the reviewer who said they just pool water - try soaking the filter for 30 seconds.
Do we really need these filters"?

Do we really need these filters? I am not sure, but for pennies a day I am, so far, not willing to find out.
We live in Chicago were we have (so we are told by the city) pretty good tap water.
My wife a I make a full pot of strong coffee almost every day. By the end of the month, these filters are darkly stained with coffee and ready to be replaced.
The filters also sort of act like a lid to keep the coffee grounds in the basket (we use a reusable basket instead of a paper one). We fill the basket about two-thirds to three-quarters full.
These are clay filters (not just paper). I don't think it's possible to clean them.
We just ordered another 12, because, when it comes to coffee don't want to take chances.
