More useful than you would think!

The egg minder is easy to set up and I can check how many eggs are in my fridge from ANYWHERE! I must admit I originally bought this product as a "hey that looks cool" item. But after using it is very useful, especially for me. I work an hour away from home in a grocery store and my wife likes to do spur of the moment baking. Sometimes she forgets how many eggs are in there if we need more or not and I need to always make sure there are enough eggs in the fridge if I want cookies or brownies! I am able to check the app before I leave work and see if I need to get eggs or not. It also let's me know if there might be something sweet waiting for me at home or not based on how many eggs had been used that day :-)
Coolest Thing Ever

The product is very nice but it took awhile to connect the Egg Minder to my Smartphone. I had to try about 6-7 times before it connected. You also have to download the Wink app. Once all of that was done, I was really excited. The Egg Minder is very nicely made and it really reads the eggs in there and tells you how many days you have left until your egg/eggs are bad. This is the coolest thing ever. You must get one. In addition, I tend to forget everything and the egg minder will let me know when it is time to buy more eggs.
Handy device, frustrating setup.

I tried over 30 times to pair the egg minder with my router with no luck using my Android phone. Grabbed my wife's iPhone and it worked the first time. That was frustrating. But now that it is paired it's a pretty cool device. It's nice to see which eggs are the oldest because we don't go through eggs very fast. It's also nice to not have to call my wife and ask if we need eggs when I'm at the store, I can just see myself.
I purchased the Egg Minder when it was on sale for $10. While I do think it's a cool device, I wouldn't buy it at full retail or even more than $20.

Ms. Chicken of Borg

I purchased this because the price was so darn economical compared to other connected appliances, and it just seemed cool to keep track of eggs (or any food) in such a clever, personalised way. It really works! When you need an egg it will recommend one to you by encircling it in a blue light, and if something needs to go, it encircles it in red, so you always know what's up in Eggville. I think this is just too cool to ignore if you have a compatible hub especially given the discounting it's going through. It's the best value in smart home gear out there for what it does, even if it's merely the Master of a not-so-life-threatening issue as egg minding. Imagine if the Borg assimilated a chicken, and this is probably close to the realisation of such a bio-mechanical hybrid. I'm proud to say "Ms. Chicken of Borg" lives in my refrigerator.

This is awesome if you have a house full of kids like me and you are always running out of eggs. This gadget lets me know exactly what I got. Works great with the rest of my Wink smart home system. I own 2 of these because I like to keep a good stock of eggs in my fridge. The app will keep track of what days each egg was put in and tell you which one should be taken our first. Once the egg nears the end of its recommended freshness time you will receive a notification letting you know the freshness period is ending. You can also set notificatioins to let you know when you are low. If you use the IFTTT website you can have the eggminder add remminders to your iphone and much more. IFTTT is a webpage/app that allows you to connect different web enabled products together.
