Currently this remote is being used with the Sony A6000. Had the camera since 2014 and still no regrets til this day for my first camera!

Now, I've bought this remote 3 times now due to me losing them every time. And every time, they worked flawlessly. Lost my first one on the beach in Okinawa lol

I normally use this for family photos or when trying to do something candid with my dogs and wife. Highly recommend this product for the price and usability. I'm sure the official Sony remote would have more features and be better BUT for 11 bucks and to be able to replace them, you can't go wrong.

Works great with my Sony A6000 !! It was cheap so I was not expecting much but it does work. However I have to push it numerous times to get it to click. Hence the reason for my 3 stars. For the price I am not going to bother returning it as it will work for now. However I will be purchasing something different in the future.

I bought this little remote control specifically for bulb photography using my Sony A6000. I've been using the Sony PlayMemories App for this purpose, but I find that in bright, sunny conditions, it is very difficult to see the screen of my iPhone and the remote makes it much easier (and quicker) for taking bulb shots. I just set everything up in-camera, click the button, set the timer, then click the button again, and done. I also like to use the Hipstamatic App on my iPhone a lot, and it is a big battery drainer. Having this remote control means I can now save the phone battery for shooting Hipstamatic, and not have to worry about the extra drain caused by using the PlayMemories App. I looked at more expensive, more feature rich remotes, but the Foto&Tech IR Wireless RC is everything I need in one small, simple, basic product. I purchased this one on the basis of the many positive reviews it has, and I'm so glad I did. It's perfect for my needs! Can highly recommend this product. (I also don't seem to have the issue that some other people have mentioned, in terms of having to use the remote in front of the A6000 because this is where the sensor is located. I can shoot from behind the camera very easily.) Very happy with my purchase.

This worked may 7 or 8 times with my A7II. I took the battery out and put it back in again and it worked once, then quit. It does not matter how far away from the camera I have the receiver. I will try purchasing another battery (2025) and see if it goes longer, but I suspect it is not the battery life, but rather the contacts inside.

Wireless remote shooting is turned off by default on the Sony A6300. To turn it on, go to the camera menu, then to the toolbox tab. The setting is labeled "Remote Ctrl" and is at the bottom of page 3.

This item works as well as the Nikon branded remote I use with my D7000. I use it for night rocket launch photography.
