We put it on the edge of an elderly person's bed and the alarm goes off every time she put her foot on it to get up. There is a long cord to put the alarm in another room but we don't use it because the alarm is high enough.
This is exactly what we needed. I don't see why there are negative comments.

We've only been using it for a few days and I hope it lasts a long time. I will update if it breaks.

I have a 7 month old puppy and don't see him if he goes to the door for potty. This way I can hear him. Have to say the alarm/chime is extremely load. I put my speaker in a cupboard and can still hear it clearly 60ft away. You could also put some tape over the speaker if it is too loud. I have two dogs and it can get a bit "noisy" with them in and out but still glad I have it.

We use it under our door mat by our patio door to let us know when the dog wants to come back in. Volume of the chime can be a little loud so we put the unit inside a little storage box. The pressure mat portion could use some better sealing/waterproofing. I've had to buy a replacement every 1-2 years because it can stop working after significant rain/maybe snow.

I have only had this for a few days, and I have not yet learned what will happen when the stray cat I feed steps on it. I bought it for him.

I put this under a waterproof doormat, and I set the food bowls on it. I ran the wire (which is long enough for just about anything!) under the door and up & around the cabinets. The "CHIME" function is the one I chose because the ALARM function is ridiculously loud. The CHIME function is still so loud that I had to wrap the transmitter in a waffle towel, stuff it is a jar, and put it inside a closed cabinet. Really, M. Manufacturer: PUT A VOLUME CONTROL ON IT, and I'll give you FIVE stars!!

I don't know how long it will last, so I cannot review it for longevity. At one point, it stopped working. I checked everything, never found the problem, but it started working again. I don't know if there is. short in it.

The trick is getting the CHIME quiet enough that it doesn't run off the stray cat while still letting me know he's there! I think I've got it now. If you're looking to buy, this is a simple affordable device, but it does need a volume control.

It would work great if you have a patient or loved one in the home who wants to get up out of bed and shouldn't, or needs to be monitored. Also, if you have a shop and you need to know when to come up front for a customer. This should work, as long as you protect it under a mat.

Easy to set up and use. Uses 9V battery so you can put it anywhere you want. Does not have a volume control.
