Great Listening Device!

I ordered & received two Unisar DH900 devices on 6/24/15 (one for bedroom, one for living room). I have used TV ears for two years or so until eventually all the headsets broke (3 units). Having some hearing difficulty at low TV volume I needed a replacement device. I tried another "˜under the chin' brand but their IR reception was bad. I then tried a set of over the ear wireless headphones that again used IR technology and the reception was still not good plus they were not comfortable, for me anyway. They made me realize I do not want over the ear headphones. I then ordered the Unisar DH900 mainly because they use RF technology. I installed last night, charged the batteries for three hours and they worked very well. I have one installed in living room connected to the audio out L&R connections on my DirecTV DVR. I have the other installed in the bedroom connected to the audio out L&R connections on my TV. The RF reception for both is very good. I do not have to be concerned with needing a direct line of sight between headphones and transmitter. The left & right arms that hold the ear pieces have flexible joints that relieve stress on these arms. This is where all of my TV ears failed. Also, the flexible joints make for a looser more comfortable fit for me. The DH900 appears very well constructed overall. The sound is very good imo, volume control works well and the left-right balance adjustment works well for me as hearing in my right ear is a little worse than left. I do not need to use these in day time viewing as I can have TV volume up enough to hear without a problem. I need this at night when my wife is sleeping and for the times I simply want to lay in bed and watch TV while she is in the living room watching TV. BTW, I am 67 years old.

I bought this as a gift for my mother. I read reviews that you couldn't use this if you weren't in line of TV unit, so didn't want to buy one for myself until I got her opinion of it. She loves them! Can go into the garage, kitchen, bedroom closet, etc..., and can still hear the TV in the family room! Think I'm going to pick up a few more for my own house!
UPDATE: Since my mother loved her ears so much, I bought myself a pair too! I too love them, but I have a suggestion for the manufacturer. It would be great if the ear buds could swivel a bit. They are made stationery in an angled position......like a stethoscope. Not sure if my ears are so much different than anyone else's, but after about 20 minutes, my right ear is very uncomfortable. I end up pulling that one out of my ear until it gets a break, then I put it back. If the buds could swivel a bit, they would have a better chance of fitting everyone's ears. For this, I'm deducting 1 star. I'm looking for that perfect fit/comfort TV watching device, and I think this could be it, with the noted manufacturing change.

I love it!!!! I have 2 TV Ears and on both one of the arms broke after a too short a use. I did not like the fact that you could not walk out of the room with the transmitter. With the Unisar, being able to walk around my house and outdoors and at least listen to the TV is a great feature. The Unisar is built better. It has strain relief so that the arms should not break. I like the spare battery always being ready. With TV Ears, it would shut down if you used it too long and you would have to wait until the unit recharged before using it again. Since I have an asymmetric hearing loss, I love the left/right balance setting on the Unisar.
The Unisar has a microphone on the receiver so that you should be able to talk to someone close by. The problem is that if I talk I nearly blow my ears away. I do not know if using the microphone input at the TV is causing this problem or not.
I would definitely recommend the Unisar to anybody with a hearing problem.

I purchased this item July 15, 2015. It lasted to October 19th. The right side ear phone arm broke at the hinged joint. It is just a plastic hinge joint and suffered plastic fatigue. This is the same problem I had with TV Ears and was so exasperating that I looked for an alternative. I am pleased with the sound quality and the RF range.. Perfect for my hearing loss. I emailed the manufacturer and have no response. I will phone them today to find out if they will honor the one year warranty. This was not due to abuse, but they cannot stand up to daily wear and did not last as long as TV Ears. I have ordered a different brand of a similar design. A more sturdy plastic or a metal hinge would solve the problem of strength of material used. I am not an engineer, but know about metal fatigue and the similar phenomenon in certain plastics and other metals. This is an excellent design, but the material of the hinges should be more sturdy. No problem with the electronics or the sound quality -- excellent, and easy to install. Pairing of the device with the transmitter is simple, but you must follow the procedure in the user manual exactly to begin the transmission. It dropped out unexpectedly twice but was easy to reestablish. I do not recommend it for anyone who cannot handle it extremely gently to avoid breakage. Not sturdy enough for normal usage. A more sturdy product may cost more, but is worth it. I have been using TV listening devices for many years and have long experience and a lifetime working with similar devices in my line of work with instrumentation.
Best thing on the market.

I like the durability of the device. This is my second one. The first lasted 4 years. It has clarity and is very helpful to television entertainment without blasting out my family.
