Keep deer out of garden
Works well

The only thing I don't like about it is that it pulses every couple seconds, it doesn't give a constant signal. If it pulsed more often or gave a solid signal it would work better for my application, but it does work. I've been using it for almost a year now and it keeps working as it should. No issues or hiccups.
Maybe an overkill

I have 2 huskies 1 male 1 female, both are extremely territorial. When the neighbors dogs come out my 2 dogs tear the fence up & the female jumps it daily. I wanted something deter this behavior. Instalation was simple, I ran 3 wires. 1 on top, middle and bottom. My male hit it first and it knocked him back. The female went to jump the fence and the shock was extremely loud. Neither of them will go to the fence line anymore. I bought a electric fence tester to test how many volt my systemwas producing. The fence energizer says 5,000 volts noload. When I tested the line noload my readings were 9,600 volts. All I can say is it works, maybe a little to well.
World for javelina.

This was used to power an electric fence to prevent Javalina from breaking into the skirting of a mobile home. They hit it once but never thereafter.
Great energizer

This has been a great charger, we've bought several and have not been disappointed. I can't speak for the other reviews but we have received the correct order everytime and they have worked perfectly.
This company also carries 8/2 chargers that are much less than some of the stronger chargers they have. I think that lesser charger would be ideal for chickens or rabbits, not dogs or livestock.
We use the 40/10 for our goats, pigs, and dogs. I would personally use it also for our chickens as a stronger charger would ensure coyotes steer clear of them.
I've tested the fence bare footed to truly see how animals would fair with it. It works let's just say that. Lol I wouldn't recommend doing this total disclousure. 😂
The electricity pulses, it isn't a constant stream of electricity which is perfect.
Lowes has metal slotted rods you can use for the grounding rod and we just bought insulated copper wiring to connect the fence to charger and charger to ground.
If the fence starts to lose it's charge I would check for oxidation of your wiring if you use copper wiring like us. A clean cut and new wiring exposed to the fence and ground fixed this issue for us and this time we wrapped the wire attached to the fence with electrical tape to insulate it and help prevent oxidation. It didn't oxidize for many many months so you by no means have to use the tape, just be mindful of this if it starts to lose charge.
These energizers are NOT meant to be in the weather so you'll need to make a covering for them. We merely screwed a small plastic tote to a 2X4 and garden stake then hung the energizer inside of it.
Please don't believe every bad review on fence energizers as more often than not it's the error of the person not the product.
Would recommend. ðŸ‘
