I have to say I am disappointed with this kit. I bought it to replace another Phillips kit I bought about 6 years ago. That one was solid and felt well made. This one feels hollow and cheap. It is much louder and vibrates more as well when using it. The shaver foil is smaller and doesn't do as nice of a job either. The guides attach easily, but the markings and arrow are so small, it is VERY hard to tell which setting you are on. I have to use a magnifying app on my phone to even see the arrow since it is so small and the same color as the plastic behind it. It is really difficult to tell which notch you're actually on since the notches are all so close together. The old one had a white circle on the main body and when you slide the guide along, the current setting number would be over that circle, making it easy to read. I will NOT purchase this again.

Just purchased this unit a few months back in 2017 and a little part of the plastic at the very top of the head of the body of the trimmer , that holds each head attachment in place, broke off and each attachment rattled uncontrollably whenever I would try to use it. It basically became useless within a few months after only using a handful of times. The cheaper model I purchased a few years ago lasted for two years before it broke.

But DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY A PHILIPS NORELCO grooming kit, this company fully stands behind their products! This is the reason I am not leaving a 1 star review and am leaving a 4 star review!

I was past the valid returns period to open a return for this on Amazon, so I simply jumped on the Norelco website and opened a chat and the customer service was fantastic. They just asked me for my information, where I purchased the unit and then for the make and serial number of the unit. Within a few minutes they issued me a pre paid label to return the broken grooming kit and and had a brand new replacement unit shipped out to me. I received my new unit within 1 week! They have a 1 year manufacturers warranty on this product and they absolutely stand behind this promise. I was extremely impressed by the Philips Norelco customer service and the way they handled this and they have now made a lifetime customer out of me.

I am leaving 4 stars because the first unit did break within a few months, so taking away 1 star fr that reason only but the company completely turned my negative experience around by sending me a brand new unit and making everything right without any hassle at all.

So buy with confidence here knowing that if you have issue past your 30 day Amazon returns period but still under 1 year, just contact the company directly and they will take care of you.

I was growing a beard and needed a new trimmer, and this one works really well. Battery seems to last for a while, I haven't tested how long, but I only charge it once in a while. Nice options for guards that it comes with, each with good length adjust-ability. I had a cheap trimmer before and stopped using because it barely cut, and was junk, but this one works really well and has 2 speeds, however I rarely have to use the "turbo" speed. Happy with it and would purchase it again. Good buy for the price.

I've been very happy with this kit so far. I like that I can use it while plugged in, so if I forget to charge it I don't have to wait. I don't use the hair or stubble comb, but I do use everything else. Kit comes with a small vial of oil to lubricate the trimmer. My one complaint is that it doesn't have a proper plastic base for the attachments and the unit itself to keep on a bathroom vanity, just a flimsy one for the attachments.

Beware of the guards that are completely open on one side! If you angle the shaver towards your beard, you can bypass the open guard and cut way shorter than your guard depth!! However, this sucker works great. The charge lasts a long time. I bought it because of other reviews that said it will work when plugged in, which I deem essential for the time when the internal battery inevitably fails. Hair bits get trapped under the blade heads that you twist on. That's a little gross, since that inside area is gooped up with mechanical lubricant.
