Works well to help reduce compressor noise levels - but don't expect miracles here (there is still a lot of noise)

I used to really hate turning my air compressor on in the garage, because it was so loud. I screwed on this muffler and it lowered the noise level to a point where I don't mind it running anymore.

The right size,atless the same size as the one that is being replaced. I had bought ones from the China collection and they are about half the size,I guess there is compressors that use that size just none I have seen. This one is the same as the oem in everyway. The air compressor is an old 20 gallon Campbell Hausfeld ,back when they were made right

It took me awhile of searching to find a decent air compressor inlet filter that was usable. The cheap junk from China are sketchy at best and will break your compressor at worst. Don't get me started on the junk filters available. I could not find just the filter. I could only find the filter and housing. My HF filter was junk and so were the 3 replacements they sent me after 2 tries. They were all poorly constructed and would leak.

This filter housing is good quality and should stand up to years of use. FS means Filter with Silencer (little plastic inlet to deflect sound), the 06 denotes Solberg filter size 06. I had to visit the Solberg website to make sure I could get extra filters the correct size. The Amazon description could use that important piece of information to sell more filters. This is much larger than the one that came with my HF oiled compressor.

Overall, impressed (standard severely reduced due to Chinese junk products imported by lazy dishonest American importers) and highly recommended for your compressor. Pay attention to the CFM and thread size.

I installed a pair of these on a Mat Industries Compressor 1.6hp 20 Gallon Vert V Twin IL1682066. it is ridiculous how quiet the air compressor is now. My air compressor is in a shed and it used to be pretty loud if you had to go in and get a tool while it was running. Now it really is about as loud as someone talking. I wish I had a Db meter to measure before and after. I will have these on any compressor I buy from now on.
