I have been on an aftershave kick for the last week or so, I have spent well over a 100 dollars on this extravaganza. therefore I
do desire to come clean on this aftershave. I have been satisfied on most of the aftershaves except the scent. This one appears
to be just what I was seeking.
The burn, the tightening, the toning and leaving no irritation of the face after a close shave is all there. Well, the scent is all
there also. It does remind me of the old time barbershop smell and refreshment that is hard to come by these days. The scent
reminds me of a clean barbersol smell that is crisp, clean and invigorating. This scent doesn't leave you before you can get out of the house.
So, if you want a crisp old time experience of the old barbershop, give this one a try. I don't believe that you will regret it. Also,
a quality aftershave is not cheap now days. The price does seem to be in conjunction with the quality...

Barber Shop Scent

I love this scent! The burn of the aftershave is very mild, the smell is very strong and very awesome. Definitely an old-school barbershop smell. I ordered this expecting a barber shop scent and I got exactly what I expected. The scent definitely stays with you. Love this stuff, I will be ordering the soap now.
Not for Sensitive Skin

The scent of this is superb, the cost is uneatable, and the longevity is at least six hours. Definitely less costly than hunting down an old can of Rive Gauche Pour Homme aftershave.
What's the drawback? After around four hours or so it begins to irritate my skin.
Even when paired with a "soothing" unscented balm, I just start itching, bad.
However, I would consider this a fault with my skin and not this splash, so I won't knock it.
Definitely a must buy if your face can handle it.
Edit: Dilute this with witch hazel and you should be okay.

I am venturing into the world of old school wet shaving and as part of that transition decided to add in a old fashioned style after shave. Based on reviews I decided that this was the one for me and I'm glad I did. There is a nice "burn" on application, but not especially intense. Everybody will be their own critic on the scent, but I am perfectly happy with it. It has a classic barbershop smell that I enjoy. Just be careful because a little goes a long ways. I am an every other day shaver and I expect this bottle to last 6 months at least if not more. Very happy with the purchase

The old formula of American Blend gets 5 stars. I can tell Mr. Fine has changed something in the formula. I still have an older bottle from last year to compare it to. Comparing this newer bottle from August 2017 with one I still have from 2016, I notice the new product has a weaker scent and doesn't last long at all. The older formula easily lasted all day and had a much more robust scent. As the new formula aftershave dries, I detect an alcohol astringency I've never noticed before. I've been using Fine American Blend since Mr. Fine began selling it in 2014, and it has been my all-time favorite ever since. Until now.
Visually, the old formula has a distinctive yellow tint to it, while the new formula is almost clear. As a side note, American Blend was the only Fine aftershave that had any tint to it. Something's obviously changed, and not for the better. To put salt in the wound, Fine has increased the price from $15 per bottle to $20! Considering the new formula, it's not even worth the $15. Shaking my head, I never thought I would write this about my favorite aftershave. Shame.
